I loved all of Costarica especially Monteverde (hanging bridges and canopy), Tortuguero, Poaz Volcan. I also enjoyed the beaches and the Ocean, but...for people like me not going surfing, bathing and swimming is a bit hard !

The waves were really great here the three days we went to it. 4-6 feet and very clean conditions. Get a smoothy at the on beach restaurant which is very good as well.

A beautiful quiet beach with stunning views and a place to do yoga. The road to get here is a little bumpy but certainly worth the shake rattle and rol. We didn't get a chance to visit Lola's but I really wish we did as it looked so lovely. I loved the whole day here at this beach it is... More

Just stunning - the road to Avellanes has been improved from it's "worst road in Costa Rica - Lonely Planet" and now it's much improved. Lola's bar/restaurant is beautiful - good service, good food, fair prices and a St Tropez situation....and then there is Lola the pig! Would recommend this place to anyone.

not for beginners, you need to pay for parking, bathrooms not on beach, BUT the waves were the real deal.

Quiet beach away from vendors and general crowds in Tamarindo. One restaurant. No chairs or umbrellas to rent. Shade is scarce except at restaurant. But it's definitely a nice break off beaten path of touristy areas.

This was a nice quiet surf beach with a few amenities. Spanish skills a plus here because this is not setup to be a mainstream tourist area which is part of what makes it nice.

Great beach, quiet and great for surf. Awesome if you have kids. Bring your food or expend a little and buy it at Lolas. I drove a sedan from Tamarindo and it took me 30 min (18 km-20km) with a 4x4 it can take you 15min.
