Fantastic wall free of danger except trigger fish at sea and sea urchins on the bottom in shallows. Alwzys wear protective foot gear, i.e. booties, fins, sandals, etc. Many dive spots to choose from. Good instructors available for courses, like the advanced open water I did at Daniels' immanuel Divers. Life forms abound. Reef books a must to identify turtles,... More

I went snorkelling for the first time on this trip, so I can't say how Bunaken compares to other places. But I was amazed by the huge variety of beautiful fish and corals that I saw close up, and the big turtles swimming out in the blue. Plus dolphins swam with our boat on the way over to the island,... The island is a real pleasure to visit if you like snorkeling or diving. The water is crystal clear and the coral is in amazing shape. There is a wide variety of fish and spotting turtles is easy at ''turtle city'' wich can easily be reached on a snorkeling trip. If you are going on a snorkeling trip we recommend... More

If you like wall diving, Bunaken is the right place. It is beautiful. In most place the coral reef was healthy and very rich. We saw dolphins, eagle rays, several white tip reef sharks, giant trevallies, snappers, groupers, barracuda, lion fishes, scorpion fishes, lobster, triggerfish, many many turtles, and much more. There was a bit of rubbish but I guess... More

Snorkeling around Bunaken is a pleasure. The coral is in good shape, both hard and soft coral. Te amounth of fish is extraordinary including many turtles and sea snakes. To bad of the garbadge in the water, on the island and on the beaches. So dont go for a bounty experience but for the extraordinary diving and snorkeling. The coral... More

Being a PADI instructor myself I was not impressed by Bunaken. Of course, very impressive walls, turtles, dolphins, eagle rays, sharks, etc. but also a lot of plastic. It hurts when you see some beautiful turtles swimming between all those pieces of plastic and other rubbish. Although every diver has to pay an entry fee of 150.000 Rp to the... More

As far as dive sites go, only the unspoiled parts of Egypt can compete. Except we even saw dolphins here! We saw new coral, new fish every dive. Also a nightdive is highly recommended

What a wonderful island! The coral reef is simply amazing, the atmosphere on the island is very relaxed and the people are nice. Definitely the best stop in our travel to Bali!
