Very Busy Street

I went to Tokyu Hands Home Centre to buy a few items for my kitchen. The street was filled with so many people and the noise level was pretty high.

Large variety of drugs and shoes choices there. Famous restaurant like Korean bbq and cake shop are located at the same street. U can spend whole day without leaving that area.

For those who likes ramen and soba (Japanese Noodle), go around Ikebukuro station, look for different Ramen and Soba stores to try out great tastes of authentic Japanese food. Ichiran Ramen, 無敵家, 光麵, 一風堂 are those I highly recommend.

Like many places around, it offer a selection of eating places and other shops with a mix of Japanese and English. Always good for first timers to work out how to use the vending machines to order meals and places you into their authentic way of living. Very active at night, lots of electronics, games places, pharmacy and movie theater.... More

This is like any typical street in Japan, however on this street there are numerous good ramen restaurants in the corners, pharmacy with cheap discounts, American eagle, round one and other arcade centers, two movie theater and at the end it will lead you to sunshine city

A fun place to visit and walk around. Take in the sights and choose from a wide selection of eating places, cafes and restaurants. Lots of young people but it is also a good place for the young at heart.

Just off Ikebukuro Stn. you find sunshine 60 dori for sunshine 60 shopping complex. Lots of fast food chains, casual restaurants, movie theatre, game centres in 300m length. This street is always crowded with teenagers after school. If you don't like noise, this is not a place for you...

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighborhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
