A uniquely Japanese department store - when the staff go into a corridor, they bow to the room then exit walking backwards! The gigantic food hall in the basement is fantastic, featuring raw ingredients like enormous octopus testicles, as well as an huge array of delicious (but expensive) bento boxes and cakes. More

This was my favorite food hall among all the 'depatchikas' throughout Tokyo. The presentation and sheer volume of food products from all over the world was amazing. The only place I can compare it to is Harrod's in London. More

It doesn't get much better than this. Check out the food basement. Haven't seen anything like it before. Football fields of food, some prepared, some like a grocery store. Your visit to Shinjuku isn't complete without a stop here. Great for lunch or a snack. More
