I've been a fan of Gundam and Japanese robot animation since the 80s. This one, even if it's just a semi-movable statue, is good enough for me. This life size Gundam looks gorgeous in photos and in reality. Can't stop taking selfies with it. Hope they'll also build Voltes V, Mazinger Z, etc.

I grew up watching Gundam shows so I thought the Gundam Front was very nostalgic. I enjoyed looking at the full scale statue and the free portion of the shop on the top floor. I personally would have given this a 4/5 because I thought it was interesting to reliving my childhood and seeing how far the show/brand had grown... More

If you are a fan, or has some interest in the Japanese anime series "Gundam", you don't want to miss this place! In the entrance of the site there is a full size gundam statue from the first series. It is very well detailed, and at night the cockpit opens up with flashes of light and projectors as well as... More

It's a novelty that it's the first full scale Gundam. It looks prettier at night so it'd be better to go then. The performance is kind of disappointing as it only involves the head moving up down left and right.

We walk from Odaiba Park toward this place. In front of the building displayed a giant robot, many people gathered to wait performances, because a few moments robot will beratraksi. Although the robot doing some movements are quite simple, I think, that it takes high technology to move it, and the funds to make it happen. Interesting to visit! and... More

My highlight of the trip was visiting Diver City's Gundam Robot. It is a HUGE "lifesize" metal robot that lights up, moves a bit and has a small show. It is easily accessible, day or night and gives people the opportunity to live out a childhood fantasy of posing with a huge giant robot! I felt like a kid all... More

As you can probably tell from the title, I am not a true fan - just went to Daiba for the evening to see the Statue of Liberty and the Gundam statue. It's impressively tall and there's a short film on the wall behind it, with a lot of lights and sounds, but overall my wife found the shopping mall... More

Even if we're not familiar with Gundam, this huge robot easily got "wow"s from the whole family. The design, construction and movements (during shows) reflect Japanese craft and technical skill. It's a good spot to spend an hour and take pictures.

Honestly, I was totally ecstatic to see the real scale Gundam! Doubt I would even come to this this area if it weren't for it. My wife, on the other hand, did not get it :)

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
