I am a huge fan of Gundam. I was so excited when I saw the life sized Gundam, even more when I visited the fan and there were exclusive models released for the location (Gundam Front Tokyo). So happily I went up to the museum and paid 1200Y for the exhibit - and it was a waste of time and... More

As a non-Gundam fan it was nice seeing a 'life' size Gundam robot but nothing more. As a photo-op on your way to one of the surrounding stations it's worth the time :)

Being a gundam fan visiting Gundam Front Tokyo was a no brainer for me. I was very impressed by the 1:1 scale RX-78 outside and 1:1 torso Strike Freedom inside the museum. There was a great range of models on display (no entry fee required) just outside the paid section. There isn't much english on the inside of the paid... More

If you go to tokyo, make sure to have a photo with life size Gundam. It have sound affect and can move, and also have light effect. It just feel like your childhood dream come true!

If you are a big fan of Gundam series, or you have interest in Japanese maniac culture, I strongly recommend you to visit Gundam Front Tokyo(GFT) in Diver City. There are plenty of Gundam models, also you can buy exclusive models only available in GFT.(And they are not expensive compared to non-exclusive models!) There are both free zone and paid... More

The Gundam Robot is huge and sits well for pictures. I am not really into this kind of thing, but plenty of people were thrilled to see it. There were people everywhere taking pictures.

Situated beside Diver City in Odaiba is this massive Gundam which lights up at various times of the day/evening. Loads of people taking photos. Gundam cafe and shop also there. Diver City Mall beside it has a fabulous food court and some unusual shops for souvenirs and if money is tight a Daiso Y100 shop.

This attraction gives exactly what it offers and delivers to all it's promises. It's just a really big Gundam robot towering next to a mall. The Gundam (which can be seen from far away) is quite impressive and at night it's even cooler because it lights up. Apart from that there is nothing else to see, so don't go there... More

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
