I had read that tourists were not allowed all the way inside the wholesale part of the market, but there were other non-workers walking around, and no one stopped me. Do not visit Tokyo without taking a trip to the almost daily fish market. Arrive at 5:30am (preferably after a night out drinking!) and head to the tuna auction.
