I liked the Shin Marunouchi Bldg better, and there is a pretty good market there too. We stayed at the Tokyo Station Hotel across the street---Mainly because across from there is the Kitti Bldg. and on the 5th floor, is the Nemuro Hanamura conveyor belt sushi restaurant, right when you step out of the elevator. I read that it was... More

Nice building, but nothing really special. If not close to the Tokyo RR station, would not even visit it.

I visited to go to one of the many restaurants on the top of the building. Very modern and beautiful architecture and dropping jaws view from the top floor.

This building has just about everything you could ever want in a shopping/eating excursion. Three floors of all kinds of restaurants, plenty of luxury stores and businesses. You could spend all day here!

The Marunouchi Building is right opposite Tokyo Station Marunouchi exit. It gives you the best views of the station at night, with imperial palace gardens opposite. Casual restaurants are located on floors 5&6, higher end restaurants can be found on the higher floors. We often went for food on the 6th floor at Aoyuzu Tora (see AoyuzuTora review), there is... I hadn't seen the new Marunouchi Building and loved its shiny ultra-modern architecture. Go at night and you'll see Tokyo Station in all its glory. We ate at a Japanese restaurant specializing in fish (I don't remember its name), and it was one of the best meals I had on my recent trip. You really can't go wrong here.

Neighborhood Profile
Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic.
