Visited here after seeing recommendations on Trip, and was not disappointed. First thoughts, the building is impressive and worth a visit in itself, it's a very well designed and flowing museum. Second thoughts, it's expensive for north of Spain (with the exception of the Guggenheim, which I think is what allows them to charge so much), but worth it. The... More

Located right above the main area of hotels and restaurants - and easily reached by escalator - this museum is a must see for every dedicated follower of fashion. Its modern architecture and attractive displays are a true delight and beautiful testament to tis wonderfully creative designer.

Above the main road through Getaria, there's not a lot to see. The buildings are not a quaint as the medieval fortress town on the point below the road, and really, the sean and the beach are the real attraction here. But oddly enough, there's a three-tier escalator on the footpath that takes you up to the Cristobal Balenciaga Museum.... More

When in the neighbourhood of Getaria, you should definitely visit this museum. It is a very well designed building for starters. Inside there is a movie on this man's interesting life (it's in spanish, basque, French and english) and it has great exhibitions. The own collection is a rotating one we were told, so next time we're there we'll go... More

For anyone who loves fashion this museum is a must. To see the construction of garments, the use of fabric - the embroidery - fabulous!

What a surpise to find such a nice museum is such a small town. Its fashion so women an gay's are targetgroups but you get to see a beautifull collection in a somewhat over the top building. No logical route to follow so make sure you get to see everything.

Both collections and the museum are interesting. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Amazing to have such well built museum in a small town.

We found the Cristobal Balenciaga Museum to be an excellent museum. At the start of the visit one should take a look at the video that explains how Balenciaga designed his dresses. This video is very good. The samples of dresses in the museum that he designed has a very wide range and some were spectacular.

This must have cost a fortune to the taxpayers. Disappointing. Very well presented but a limited show. There is a temporary exhibition of photographs of Balenciaga designs worn by famous actresses. The quality of the prints is really not up to standards.

How some one convinced other people to let them build a museum like this in a small village like Getaria is a mystery to me. This is a really wonderful place. It reminded me of a great exhibit we were fortunate enough to have visit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art called "Roberto Capucci: Art into Fashion." I was especially... More
