It is an interesting building in that the architecture dates back 1,200 years. However, not being able to go inside this historic site was disappointing. Maybe they open their doors during the high season. You will have to read someone else's review to determine that. I was unable to find out how to enter for any viewing other than attending... More

The Santa Maria Church is on the side of Castillo Santa Barbara which involves a healthy walk, delightful surroundings overlooking the sea, markets and cafés with the gorgeous views. There are all sorts of things to keep you occupied and to look at. It's free and you can see some very fascinating 15th century artwork and traditional religious items. A... More

As my Hotel overlooked the Church, spotted a large crowd on the Saturday morning, It was a wedding in progress, and if the inside of the Church was not beautiful on its own, the bonus of seeing [part of] a traditional Spanish ceremony take place was quite special. Thought the 'no cameras' notice was just for the wedding - but... More

Worth popping in. A beautiful church inside and out. The art work inside is amazing, it's a pity you weren't allowed to take photos. It's located right next to the MACA (modern art museum), so you can easily visit both of them with one walk to the old town.

It is a beautiful church in a beautiful spot. I would recommend taking a seat in front of the church for a break with a beautiful view.

Well worth seeking out. It has baroque detailing on the doors and I am not usually a fan of baroque but the rest of the sand coloured church is very plain and it looks very beautiful. The art work inside is very nice too.

This church was a lovely peaceful place and the architecture was fabulous, inside was magnificent, would have liked to have gone to a service there, but were not there on Sunday.

According to my wife ( religious), it's the bees knees. personally I thought that the Lord should have done something about the Reggie shop across the square THAT WAS BELTING OUT (MUSIC?) ALL DAY.

Not the biggest tourist attraction but worth seeing when you're around. Certainly looks nice. There's a cafe at the square and two very confortable curvy metal benches. I stayed in a hostel in front of the church and breakfast was served on a roof terrace, so I could have a closer look at the towers and the bells.
