Great experience for families, with spectacular views of the city and the coast, although a word of warning for those with small children.. keep them on a tight rein because health and safety issues are not a priority in Spain.

Went to see castle, was enjoyable. There is a lift to it €2.70 pp (there is a sign saying ID is required but we were never asked for it). Little stalls there but they're nothing special also a coffee shop on site. Worth a visit if u have a few days but probably wouldn't bother if only there for a... More

It was quite interesting and informative. The views are spectacular. My only complaint was that directions on the audible tour were not very good, and if ended up having g to figure out what number to push, as I frequently found myself in the wrong place. Still, I would recommend a visit.

We were pleasantly surprised that this site was free for seniors with ID. It was also quite walkable as you go up to the top in an elevator. The elevator is small and so the lines are long. The area on top is beautiful with great views of the city. Interesting historical information is posted in several languages.

In short the Castle is best appreciated from outside than inside. It is better to enjoy it as a backdrop from the beach than actually visiting the grounds. It costs 2.70 euros per person to take the lift up so it may be worth doing it but if you don't you would not miss much

We hiked up to the castle expecting a bunch of old ruins but found a great set up with interesting artefacts and restaurants etc. The real attraction however were the fantastic views of the the city and the coast. I got some magnificent photos of a succession of breathtaking views.

There are some interesting artefacts in the small 'museum' there but the best bit is the fantastic view of the city of Alicante that you can get from various places in the castle. Also of interest is the history of the castle that you can read about as you walk around. Access is very good from the promenade behind the... More

You don't need to spend much time here, but you have to make the trip up just for the pictures. The views from the top of the castle are outstanding. You can access the castle from the main street in Alicante. You will pay $2/person to take the elevator from sea-level to the top of the mountain. Once you're at... More

The visit to the Alicante Castle is a must for anyone who loves history. The information readily available as one walks through the castle is mind bugling! You feel like you traveled back in time. The cobble stones, the walls, the canons, the panoramic view of the city and sea were breathtaking. The climb (walking or riding) up to the... More
