On the last day we've visited Alicante we took the elevator up to the castle. Despite the short duration of our visit we loved the castle and it's view over the city and surrounding. A bar on top offers some beverages.

By taking the lift from adjacent to the Port, on can ascend to the castle using the lift. €2.70 per person or FREE if over 65 (proof of age required). On a clear day the views are spectacular, selfie lovers will have a ball. Seating and light refreshments are available for those who choose to walk up the winding pathways.

We walked as the elevator was closed. Our route was not the easiest so make sure you have good shoes, there is an easier path so plan your route.

best to get there by using the lift in the cliffs near the road walk way bridge near the prom ..it goes over the main A332 road. Senior citizens charge is reduced about 2/3 euros . Plenty to look at always an expo on..nice cafe..not to be miised

Nice walk uphill, excellent view over the city and the sea. Well spent 2-3 hours. No need to walk down since there's an elevator (free of charge). Have been there at least 5 times, would love to come back!

Hey it's free and very interesting, well worth spending a couple of hours there and exploring. We took the lift up and walked down. Very happy we did!

Took lift up for €2.70 and thought there would be entrance fee at top. Very pleasant surprise that entrance is free. Best value sightseeing we have had in years. Apart from the wonderful views it is an interesting place to wander around. Museum exhibits a bit limited but did not detract from visit at all. The exhibition of old photographs... More

Great panoramic view of the city but not the history. A very nice walk up the steep hill and around the fortress. Unfortunately there is little information or history presented.

We make a trip up here once a year, find the lift entrance, which is on the sea side, got to via a long tunnel, this takes you to the centre of the mount. You can get out half way up but this only takes to the cafe, we go to the top and from here once you have had... More

Amazing view!!! Good place for walk! The Castle is on the hill and if you don't have car the only way is to walk.
