We went up this castle everyday we were in Alicante we just love it! There are a few different ways to get up to it and we tried them all, half way up the castle there are 2 little cafes where you can stop and get a drink or something to eat. Once you get to the top you can... More

Take the lift for 2.40 euros as it would a very arduous walk in the heat. We really like Alicante and would recommend it for a weekend away

Fantastic views from the top of the castle. The Museum of Alicante history, which is located inside the Santa Barbara castle is worth the visit.

Great free views over the Alicante. Especially the west side has a nice path with lots of plants. Remember to take water with you when the sun is up!

A very interesting place to explore and, from the top of the castle, the views of Alicante and the surrounding area are amazing

Great views. Only few euros to enter. Make sure you have small notes or change, won't accept 10 or 20 euro notes. Take drink with you and access not good for tourists with walking disability.

Well worth a visit for a few hours so long as you can navigate the somewhat confusing street signs to the lift. If you see a sign that points up a load of stairs don't waste your time its the wrong way. Had read some online grumbles about the lift being expensive but its only a couple of euros each... More

Well signposted to the Castle - a lift to the top and very reasonably priced. A wonderful 360 degree view. You can walk around at your lesuire, even sit and admire the views from the top. Sensible shoes are probably a must as there are some quite steep slopes! Definately worth a visit.
