Interesting self guided tour. Not much English information but it didn't really detract from the experience. Very worth a look.

We were just walking the wonderful old part of this town, when we came upon the castle. A very friendly lady told us that a tour was going to be in 40 minutes. We went to lunch and came back to have a personal tour with a man who worked so hard to give us all the information in English.... More

The castle itself is truly of old original stone and brick structure and I believe a must see. It is not well maintained nor renovated, which thus shows it's true medieval form. It's not the elegant castle like the others in Germany, but that is its charm. Part of the enjoyment is the way there. The town of Kronberg im... More

The castle is located on top of a hill around which lies the town of Kronberg. It was possible to go inside the castle for a reasonable fee. Inside was not much, but the architecture and the small well kept park where nice to experience. The castle also has a tower in which you can go up a winding (and... More

Beautiful old town, easily accessible by train from Frankfurt. Castle worth a visit, although only a couple of hours needed. No café, but does have toilets. Cheap to get in compared to GB. It is worth spending time strolling around the ancient streets with its historic buildings.

We went there by local bus from Kronberg train station. We waited a while till a bus showed-up and asked the driver while he goes to the castle & he confirmed. It's a short ride & the town is small, quit & peacefull with cobbled-stone streets & beautifull houses & flowers in front of most of the houses. Then we... More

Very historic and affluent town. Walk up and down hills; good exercise. A lot to see. Can cover it in a day.

This is a lovely old castle with great views over Kronberg. We didnt get to see the museum, but it is well worth the €3 entry fee.

Burg Kronberg isn't the best of the castles I've visited but it's very old (1220), built on a rock and if you climb the 120 steps up to the Tower, you enjoy a panoramic view of the stunning village. The garden isn't special but it's a nice walk with a view. There is a small museum which reveals Kronberg's history and especially... The castle itself is being renovated at the time, so you can "only" visit the keep, which gives you a very nice view over the Rhein-Main-Plain and the beautifully maintained garden (Prinzengarten). You can also visit the small "Stadtmuseum", which gives an interesting insight into Kronberg's history (the kids loved the pictures taken by pigeons...). Hopefully the castle will be... More
