I visited as a birthday treat for my partner, and we both shared a wonderful couple of hours. Our expert for our guided tour was one of the recently retired Squadron Leaders of the Flight, Sqn Ldr Rowley who knew everything there was to know about all the aircraft in the hangar. He related to us true stories about the... More

Just visited the Memorial Flight. What a privilege to see the flying machines up close. Seen the Lancaster flying many times but till I stood right next to it I didn't realise just how big it is. To think those brave boys put their lives on the line flying in it for us is quite moving. Very interesting guided tour... More

The most impressive bits, for me were the Lanc. and the Dakota (I've been airsick often in them! The escape hut was interesting too, particularly for my French wife - apparently 4 civilians died for every airman helped out of France....

Paid attraction or not, I consider it a privilege to be able to enter the allowed hangar of the BBMF. Told that our hangar tour would last up to an hour and a half, we were fortunate in that it was early morning, not very busy, and our guide, bless him, talked at huge length, about everything, so we got... Well explained about all the planes history. From were there from and how they ended up in Coningsby. Work was being carried out on all the planes, so got to see them stripped back which was amazing. Will be going again with my son soon.

Visited yesterday, guide was extremely knowledgeable. Very good tour was able to take photo's and get up very close to the aircraft. As it is classed as closed season were able to see repair work taking place on the aircraft. Staff were very friendly and would recommend this tour to any one interested in air planes.

I first visited the BBMF back in June and was a bit disappointed because the Lanc was stuck in France after a technical issue during the D-Day commemorations. Off-season you don't have that potential problem and you will see the aircraft undergoing winter maintenance, which is fascinating. An added bonus if, as I did, you arrive at about 13:00 on... More

One of the best days out in Lincolnshire, if not the UK. Viewing these iconic aircraft, even when stripped for winter servicing, is awesome. When you see what the pilots had to fly compared to today's modern aircraft ,you realise how brave they were. The guides are brilliant, friendly, knowledgable and they interact with all, including the youngsters. The engineering... More
