I timed my visit for a quiet period, and was rewarded with a tour guide just to myself. The guide was very detailed, and provided very detailed information on each plane. The planes were undergoing maintenance, but I was able to get close enough to them to get a really good appreciation of each one. The café was good, with... More

The family has been many times and is always interesting and informative. We have also been to National service reunions there with dad.

I visited for the first time and was lucky enough to meet a Lancaster pilot who I could have talked to all day. The tour in the hanger was well presented by a knowledgeable guide and the sound of the Merlins when fired up is incredible. Will be going again.

Very accommodating volunteer staff and guides. There is a well stocked gift shop and a small cafe/snack facility. Our guide was Alan Taylor, who provided a very informed and entertaining tour of the hangar and the incredible aircraft they have there. Everyone should visit the BBMF at least once!

The Battle of Britain memorial flight visitors centre is a must for anyone interested in British WW2 history. Hanger tours are available every day. I went during the winter maintenance period, when all the aircraft are in the hanger having their annual service and safety checks.

Loads of flying spitfires, a hurricane, Lancaster and Dakota are the main exhibits. Start in the visitor "hut" where there a lot of information especially about missions and flying men. It's very informative. Next a trip to the memorial flight hanger where the planes are maintained. Go in early winter and see the lot of them together, being serviced for... More

This is a must for anybody remotely interested in WWII aircraft. They all fly here and our guide, Dave, was a wealth of really excellent information. Allow >2 hours. The NAAFI is good too!

very informative guide, interesting place. Spitfires and a Lancaster in the hangar are the main attractions, Tornado's and Eurofighters can be seen taking off and landing at frequent intervals when you have finished the tour

The BBMF is an amazing asset to the UK . Maintaining these aircraft and keeping them flying is a great feat. However, I've rated this attraction average as I found the tour too long and because keeping the aircraft need maintenance work it's not a museum environment but a workshop. If you love this, go ahead. I'm sure my review... More

Had my eldest son home for a visit- he's 29! We thought we'd go here as we live in Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire has a long history of RAF bases. More importantly we wanted to see the planes! We were so pleased we did. The family ticket is great as it included concessions and was not restricted to children. What made... More
