We were made welcome by Kevin and Louise in this warm and atmospheric pub.
Great pint of Guinness and excellent live music on the Friday night by a band, sorry can't remember their name. Good mix of locals and passers through.
Will be back.

I was staying in Athenry recently and it is a lovely town close to Galway city ... very friendly people but none friendlier than in J Glynns pub. We were looking for a traditional style pub that knew what a good pint was and as soon as we walked in we knew we were in the right place ! It's...

Athenry is a quaint walled town, popularized by the ubiquitous song "The Field's of Athenry". The town has many small unique pubs, bars and restaurants.
I stayed here for a weekend and after visiting the heritage centre which is well worth a look I tried to find a pub which was not too quiet and not too loud.
