wow, the game reserve has really improved a lot by doing the self drive route and they also added numbers that you can follow on the map. we almost saw all the animals. The one afternoon as we were searching for lions we came across a rhino that was about 50 meters from us. the 4x4 route was amazing and... More

We stayed in Tienie and Gerd Grafs iKhaya LamaDube Lodge in the east of Dinokeng Game Reserve. We arrived at sunday morning and had the chance for a wilderness trip into the reserve with them. We didn't see the Big Five at this day. But highlight was a lion family with little babies preparing for their evening diner. This was... More

Just a short drive out of Pretoria, this delightful game reserve features almost everything one could hope for in a safari experience. The selection of wildlife almost equals what you could find in the better known reserves. There are some excellent lodges on the property. We can't think of a better thing to do if you are pushed for time

If you are in Pretoria or Joburg and don't have a lot of time, this might be the place to go for a game safari. It has all big 5, although not always easy to find them all...

Every one know you can see lions here but I saw a serval and ts essence which if enjoyed. Over time the few farmers in middle of reserve will go but right now they are a bit of an eyesore.

Fantastic! Less than one hours drive from Johannesburg-Pretoria is this 18,000 ha game reserve with the BIG Five! It is like being in the Kruger Park (almost!?). If you have a day to spend this is a really good place.

We live in the Big 5 Game Reserve. It is an amazing place, very peaceful and stunning animal interactions. To all of you who spend one day in the reserve and then don't see any big 5, these are wild animals guys they are not caged they do what animals do best. We sometimes are lucky and see elephant crossing... More

This was our second visit to Dinokeng and as with everything make sure that you select the Lodge that is right fo0r you. From a farmhouse where the whole family can spend some time together to five star lodges, Dinokeng has it all. We did the farmhouse stay as one option and it worked well as this was a family... We opted for the self drive route and were told by staff that it is perfectly safe to go with our vehicle. 15min in we had a flat tyre and moved slightly of the route to a vacant area so that we don't block vehicles that wanted to pass us, while we attend to the puncture. We phoned the emergency... More
