We spend 4 hours in the rewerve with our own 4X4, I have to say that the reserve is beatiful, nice sunny and worm day but the only things missing were thw wild animals. We saw a couple of giraffes, some zebras and a couple of other animals but not enough in 4 hours driving....

There is nothing to fault here. The game viewing (guided game drives), the various hospitality venues - we have now dined at three restaurants within the reserve. All superb in terms of hospitality, quality of service. We will always return.

We came here for a peaceful, in the bush big five experience. We decided to stay in a chalet at Dinokeng Lodge, as the website gave the feeling that the chalet was secluded. What we found was a semi detached unit. The venue attracts families with young children in the adjoining campsite amd/or young adults looking for a social outing.... More

Lovely lodge, accommodating hosts, and relaxing area. Owl Spot Lodge is located 5.2 km off the "main road", so the drive to the lodge is a game drive in and of itself. The owners are friendly and easy-going. The lodge is very clean. We would definitely stay there again.

1. Evenings are best: there is a 430pm "drive" as the locals call it. Better chances of seeing more anmals 2. No guarantees. We saw 3 of the big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, Water Buffalo). 2 is the norm. We were even lucky enough to see a lioness and her 4 cubs 3. There are many lodges that have... More

We spent a very enjoyable 7 nights in a private lodge in the park over Christmas. Being in the middle of the bush but in a lovely house with a pool and large garden was a very relaxing experience. However if you come to Dinokeng to see the all of the Big 5 you will need a lot of luck... More

We went to Tamboti Lodge for lunch and the afternoon was great. My beef stew was excellent (not too spicy) and served with 2 vegetables and rice. the portion was just enough and not too overwhelming. we went on our own walk near the restaurant between main meal and deserts and enjoyed seeing a jackal running in the distance. we've... We are currently spending a couple of days here. There are a couple of concerns around this being a Big 5 reserve. The quantity of Big 5 animals lacks badly and chances to see any of these are very slim. Most of the reserve are not accessible to the public and private areas that are, are scarcely populated by most... More

We spent a few days in this big 5 reserve and it was absolutely incredible- if you go definitely do one of the game drives through Mongena Lodge- their game ranger and tracker where amazing and we saw 3 of the 3 big 5 with them.

I only had a short time to see game, and this place was great. The staff was amazingly generous and helpful, our guide was top notch, and I got some great photographs.
