The lago delle Fate is an artificial lake on the right (orographic) side of Valle Anzasca. It is reached via a gently slopping dirt road (closed to not-permit-holders) so the short (about 1 hour) hike is really suited for families with small children (or even strollers). There are alternate trails, including one which crosses a lovely meadow and some riparian... More

Lago delle Fate is a small lake near Macugnago in the Anzasca Valley. It is a beautiful area and definitely worth a visit. It is almost totally off the general tourist trail, being mostly knowledgeable Italians and German who visit. Visiting this area was a highlight of my summer last year.
