Let me say, this place is not what I had hoped it would be, expected it to be more 'up class' but sadly, it needs a lot of work. Upkeep is a no. 1 issue. Cleanliness is under par. Nothing to shout about here...sorry!

This used to be the old city council building. Now it's a pretty decent museum with informative displays describing the origins & past of Sibu city. This place is worth a visit & all visitors to Sibu should come here.

A place where you can get all sorts of information regards the history and culture of Sibu. It is like a museum, worth a visit if you like to know more about Sibu. It tells you the early beginnings of Sibu, the coming of early Chinese migrants from the various dialect groups and also those of the earliest ethnic tribes.... More

There is nothing much here. Only few boards on the ground floor explaining some history but not very clearly lit. There should be some signs to tell people more clearly of some exhibition at the upper floor. Nothing so special. I like a shop selling Sarawak souvenirs including Ibans custome and some other items at the ground floor near to... More

This is an odd place. When you first approach it there doesn't seem to offer much. It looks a little run down and neglected, and most of the shops appear abandoned. Plus, on the ground floor there are just a few posters. Nothing special. However, take the stairs to the right of the coffee shop at the main entrance and... More

The place had a lot of potential but was very underused. Most of the shops were closed / vacant lots. They could have rented out the open space for events. It was just like most typical government initiatives. great when open, but poorly maintained.

Sibu Heritage Centre is a museum located just a stone’s throw away from Premier Hotel. It is housed in a white circular building with dark tinted glasses and jagged roof edges and is easily recognizable. However, it is evident that the exterior of the building was in a state of neglect and lacked proper maintenance and even the covered wooden... More

Exceptionally delicious street food such as Laksa Sarawak, Katupat, Mee Goreng Melayu, Kampua Mee, local jungle vegetables, Melanau sushi called Umai and all sorts of local fish and sea fish - all excellent for value. Nice river views and very clean parks, a park in Selangau I think (I forgot the name) it was a pleasure to walk in. The... More

You could get some souvenir from there, though not all the shops are opened. Could do some photo shooting over there as the building is at least 100 years old but had renovated in the recent year. No much sightseeing for tourists
