Although it is only a small museum, it has the whole history of Sibu starting from the indigenous peoples to modern times. If you want to know the history of Sibu and its people this is the place you should visit first. Located right in the heart of the city.

The Sibu Heritage Centre is in the middle of Sibu Town. Here you can see the history of Sibu from the earliest immigration of the Chinese to Sibu and Sarawak under the rule of the Rajah Brooke and to being the colony of the British. There are many pictures of old Sibu. At the same time you can see the... More

The top floor houses a "mini museum" that offers a glimpse into Sibu's past. You get to see belongings of different races and bits and pieces of history. Is it the best? Nope. But it's the closest you get to finding more about Sibu's past (notwithstanding the Internet). Is it worth a visit? Definitely.

The Heritage Centre is a good place to visit to learn about the the basic history of the Sibu town and the different cultural and ethnicity living this part (Sibu) of Sarawak. The place is filled with artifacts, models, readings regarding the history, cultural and religions. The museum is on the upper level - air conditioned. A coffee shop is... More

A mini muzium with a huge amount of information on the origin of Sibu and its people. Worth a visit for locals.

This centre is rather disappointing. It looks rather run down, as if there was lots of energy initially to set the place up, but now that it is operating, all the energy has left and gone elsewhere. The ground floor is mostly abandoned storefronts, and at first I thought the whole place was closed. But there is a set of... More

Let me say, this place is not what I had hoped it would be, expected it to be more 'up class' but sadly, it needs a lot of work. Upkeep is a no. 1 issue. Cleanliness is under par. Nothing to shout about here...sorry!

This used to be the old city council building. Now it's a pretty decent museum with informative displays describing the origins & past of Sibu city. This place is worth a visit & all visitors to Sibu should come here.
