We didn't manage to see a film but enjoyed a look around the foyer which had lots of memorabilia to look at. If we return we would definitely aim to tie it in with a movie.

A fantastic old picture house but it is an experience that you will not forget in a hurry. Brilliant. Get films and warm and comfortable to sit in.

I watched the Imitation Game at the Kinema today. Something to do to pass the time whilst my husband was at work. From the outside, i thought i was in for a cold, uncomfortable experience. Never judge a book by its cover though. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was like stepping back in time. The interior looked like... More

This cinema is truly unique for the following reasons: It is indeed "in the woods". It is rather like a basic but very comfortable big shed! It is as it always has been since (I believe) the 1920s. It still has an uplifting organ played live about once a week or more (Check please). There are still real live usherettes... More

Waited for almost half century to visit this amazing place - without doubt the finest cinema experience that can be had. The screening of the Imitation Game (breaking the Enigma Code) was wholly appropriate in an area famous for its wartime importance. Remarkably good prices for tickets and the intermission gave us time for good value refreshments. Comfortable seats and... More

Despite being further to go to the Kinema than to a multiplex, this is our cinema of choice. Almost everything about this delightful cinema is to be recommended - the glitter ball and organ in the intermission, refreshments, trompe-l'œil decor, cinematic collections - even getting a "proper" ticket! All tremendous fun and makes a simple trip to watch a film... More

I love this cinema, this is where I take my children to see the current movies. It's very traditional, it's much cheaper than these new multi screen places and you get a break half way through the film to buy ice cream....what more could you possibly want or need? The sweets and pop corn are reasonably priced too. They have... More

This is my third visit to this beautiful, nostalgic, comfortable and intimate cinema which doubles up as a museum to film. From the plush red velour seats, to the organ and piano playing, the intermission half way through and decor, going to Kinema in the Woods is a treat and also a great place to take visitors as a wet...
