Thankfully we got the recommendation to call ahead and were able to join the final tour of the day. It would have been terrible to drive all that way and not know about the rich history of Talisker and the whiskey making process. We had a great tour (was very much enjoyed by our children as well 14, 12 &11).

The staff are helpful but unfriendly. Asked to test the 10 years old. After bringing the samples, asked me to return the tray to the counter and left without any attention or wait to answer any question. It is a very busy visitor centre because it is the only distillery on isle of skye. This might be the only distillery... More

We visited the Talisker visitor centre on a Thursday afternoon in August, to find that all the official distillery tours for that day were fully booked, so presume that they need to be pre booked well in advance at this time of year. You would think that they would expect the level of interest at this time of year, so... More

They've actually had a sign made up which says "All our tours today are full"...so prepare to be disappointed if you turn up hoping to get on one. I met loads of other people who'd also been unable to get on a tour...suggesting Talisker ought to put on more staff/tours?!

We enjoyed learning how whisky is made. Our tour was free because one part of the distillery was closed for maintenance. We were given a discount voucher to use in the gift shop. Our guide had (what sounded to me) a very distinct Cockney accent which was quite charming and it didn't hurt that he was easy on the eyes... More

We took an interesting tour guided by a knowledgeable guide around this distillery. It is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye and is worth the trip to see it. The surrounding area is pretty too. Whilst the guide was great the front desk booking staff were a little surly, hopefully we just caught hem on a bad day... More

Beautifully situated by the sea at Carbost, quite an interesting tour of the distillery although somewhat difficult to catch what the guide was saying. He was very knowledgable, but he had obviously done the tour many times before and tended to speak very fast! The afternoon tours where fully booked very quickly, so make sure to book at least the... This was a typical distillery visit, however it was very busy, so much so we had to book one day before.

Excellent distillery in a stunning setting. I've always been a fan of whiskey and Talisker is one of my favourites so this was a pilgrimage. Fascinating to see how its made. I'll drink it with even more pride now!

As a reasonably keen whisky drinker, I was looking forward to the tour of the distillery. We arrived and walked straight in, with no problems having not booked, and paid £7 each for the tour. Joe our guide was a pleasant and informative chap and gave us a good run down of how things worked and guided well through the... More
