Got talked into this tour by my husband who was interested as he occasionally has a small whiskey at home and was wanting to know how it was all done. I was not at all bothered and, in hindsight, would rather have sat out in glorious sunshine overlooking the water. It is £7 each for the tour which I found... More

We set out for Talisker after breakfast, because when else would one visit a whisky distillery in Scotland? We arrived just after 10am, and were easily able to get on the next tour. The tours run every 20 minutes. Our tour guide was Gordon, who was excellent and very knowledgeable about the entire process. We got to see each part... More

We have been to many distilleries and have been on many tours but this tour really stood out. Brian was our guide and we really enjoyed his precise recall of all the processed and amounts and attention to detail. You can feel his enthusiasm and love for whisky but it is not in your face. He paced the tour perfectly... More

Had a good and informative tour on how Whisky is made. Tour guide was knowledgeable. One of those things to tick off the list without having the wow factor. The Old Inn down the road done a haggis strudel, very yummy.

Talisker is a nice distillery, but if you visit any of the other distilleries owned by Diageo, you will get similar tours. You can visit malts.com to see which ones this company owns and just pick one to visit.

We picked up a leaflet advertising Talisker Scotch Whisky Distillery when we were on holiday and made the fairly lengthy drive to visit it, only to be met with a sign saying: "All our tours today are full". There is nothing on the advertising leaflets to indicate that this could be a problem and their website had gave us the... More

We have done a few whisky tours now and Talisker has been the best so far! Gordon was our tour guide and he was great very informative! what i loved so much about Talisker is they take you through the actual still working distillery, not just a old museum that most others do! you see everything working.. we saw the... Nice place to visit. Diageo knows how to make an experience. Better to book in advance the visit. Very busy in the summer. And if you are foreign, bear in mind it closes at 5ish.

First Officer Douglas Richardson's (Cabin Pressure) favourite tipple, and jolly good it is too. We arrived just before the advertised opening time but had to wait another 20 minutes in the rain for “staff training” so not a good start. However the ticket desk processed all the waiting visitors quickly and we had no problem getting on the second tour... More

Lovely distillery in a pretty wonderful location. If you are in Skye this is one place definitely worth visiting. The tour lasts about an hour and the guide we had was very knowledgeable. Nice little touches here such as free pin badge, good marketing tool if you can get some of the visitors to wear the badge either whilst in... More
