This is foremost a hospital and rescue mission for seals with even a seal ambulance parked out front! It's generally a small museum, but very well suited to young kids, and there are seals in various stages of recovery. Be warned, some of the injuries can be a bit grisly for not the best for the very sensitive. Highly educational.

The work that they are doing here is great but the visit is basically a promo movie followed by the viewing of the tanks where they seals are being treated. You can see the whole thing in about 15 minutes. Consider the cost of your ticket a donation to help them keep treating the seals. My kids liked it but... More

Interesting Seals Hospital, well kept and with, foremost important, wonderful international team. Some are working there, others are having a training period, from many European countries. Nice gadget shop, a MUST GO with children. Mine had a wonderful time looking at the team feeding and nursing the puppies! Cafeteria inside, but if you demand more better go the local Pub,... More

Worth a visit when you're around, not too big, but informative and fun for kids to see all the little seals.

A pleasant morning spent looking at seals - fine for children particularly and interesting enough for adults for half an hour or so. They could make it more interesting by explaining what the matter is with each seal and how they are treating them. Worth a visit if you are in the area but not worth a detour

We have visited the Zeehondencreche in Pieterburen in May on a very rainy day. The admission price is somewhat high for what you get, however this research centre does not get any grants or other sponserships from government and therefore has to rely on private sponsoring and income from the sales in their shop and restaurant. It's very informative to... More

We visited on a so-called VIP group arrangement of 16 Euros per person during a team awayday. We were received very well with outstanding coffee and outright delicious local cake in the pleasant cafe inside the sanctuary. Then we were given a good tour in English, including some behind the scenes views, by one of the professional staff of the... More

Great initiative and the seals are too cute for words! Go there with or without your little ones. We enjoyed it very much.
