Great day out. Kids loved it, especially because of the exceptional service and time the engine staff devoted to them. The station facilities are limited so time your visit for departure well. I would advise making this part of your day, not the entirety of it. Saying that we really enjoyed it, the staff are incredibly good, knowledgeable and passionate.

Second visit to this wonderful Heritage Railway. Operated by volunteers. Plenty of free parking and easily found between Ilkley and Skipton on the A59. Good sign posting. A very warm welcome from the moment we arrived. Open fires in the booking office and Buffet - perfect for those cold winter days. Lovely home made cakes in the station buffet, great... More

We attended over the Christmas holiday. Train was quite full due to presence of coach parties. Relatively short trip, 15 mins each way but the £9.50 return ticket lasted all day. A true trip back in time!

I am really sorry that you left without riding on our line, as the volunteer who was maning the cafe that day due to the illness of our regular volunteers as well as selling the train tickets I was certainly not aware of anyone having to wait in the circumstances you described. Although at times I was very busy dealing... More

Went on the Santa special with my two children, had a great time. Both my children loved the experience and came away with some special memories and a present from Santa. Hills around covered in snow added to Christmas magic. Station with log fires while u wait. Recommended!!

Very British , in a good way. Most males will love it and it captures perfectly the heyday of British Rail. If that blows your hooter!!

Booked tickets for our family of 4. 2 adults and 2 children aged 2 and 6. It was simply the best santa experience we have had- and we've had a few! We booked for the first day it was available so thought it was going to be really busy. We turned up and parking was not a worry at all,... More

We took the 1st Santa Special Train of the season and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff is very friendly, especially Santa. On the hour long journey, Santa visits each child at their seat, has a little chat, and then he and his elves hand out age appropriate presents. All 3 boys age 6 and under had a great time. Positives:... More
