Alona Beach in its natural state mast have been very beautiful, but it has been spoiled by over-development, with too many tacky and overpriced tourist bars and restaurants crowded together along a small narrow strip of badly maintained beach front, which is also frequented by touts for dive and boat trips and hawkers. The beach is not very clean or... More

We hired a motorbike and did the trip from Loboc to Alona Beach for a beach day and was a little disappointed, after having had it recommended to me by a colleague. The water was warm and the view was beautiful, but the sand was heavily compacted (compared the the powder sand of Boracay) and there were hawkers everywhere. We... More

It's good for arranging a snorkeling or diving expedition but there are far too many vendors. I'm sure its alright for the party crowd but it's not a good beach experience.

It seems to use only for departure spot of hopping tour or skin-scuba. Too many restaurants and bars around to swim or walking along the beach.

Nice beach. Eateries are overpriced compared to town, and you do not have streams of begging kids singing you Christmas Carols whilst you eat in town.

busy place full of touts for trips on boats/diving etc; lots of choice of bar/restaurants for food and in the evening- they place tables on the beach; lots of places offering fresh catch of the day to bbq; the beach wasn't too bad to swim in but- be wary as the place has lots of boats. Better of going to... More

White sand beach area promising but overrun by too many people eating at restaurants/vendors with their chairs/ tables right on the beach! Not enough space to just sunbathe. If you decide to eat at one of the "beach" eateries, then your view is ruined by the boats on the horizon. I was staying at a resort that lacked a nice... More

Friendly people but too many drunks in the evening. It needs a good restaurant there as most of the places are fast food. I think it will be manic when the new hotel opens in April with 500 rooms

White sand with lots of water activities like diving, snorkling, jet ski and island hopping. There were lots of restaurants and bars. The people were friendly. Shopping for souvenirs was fun, lots of cheap stuff. There were also minimarts , atm and money changers (but rates are lower).
