The beach is okay but has a lot of boats and you can't really swim that much. Sea plants that were swept by the waves along the sea shore are not being cleaned unlike in Boracay that they clean it every morning.

The beach - both the sand and the water, was not clean. It was littered with thrash although some resorts try to clean their area regularly with rakes. In some areas it was not fit for walking and there was even a dead dog. The water was murky and full of floating leaves which stick to your feet. I saw... More

In the evening when the sea recedes, the beach becomes actives with masseuses and fresh sea food. But otherwise during the day, except for divers, there is not much to do to keep a family with kids occupied. The usual Bohol attractions such as tarsier is a good 1 hour drive away. The closest activity is to visit the Bee... More

The (mega) resort we stayed at was fronting Alona Beach. From our 5th floor balcony, the beach seemed pristine with ivory-colored sand acting as a divider between the sea and our resort's pool bar. We were disappointed to find that the beach is in need of major clean-up and maintenance. We could not afford to go barefoot as the beach... More

After spending about 10 days in the Philippines, Alona Beach is refreshing. There are some cute hotels, lots of dive shops and restaurants. There are also some questionable hotels, some beggars - not aggressive and beach massage people who are a little bothersome. There are also kids selling tours which I hear are a scam, hope not. We enjoyed the... More

It has been a total disappointment! not a paradise beach whatsoever it doesn´t look like the pictures at all! It is dirty, resorts and restaurants are way too close to the water, they´ve left just 3 or 4 metres of sand, which is ridiculous. A lot of annoying vendors who follow you around, yes, a "no, thank you" is not... More

I´ve been at Alona Beach Panglao a lot of times and still like it. But be aware - in tourist season it is crowded here :-) You save a lot of money if you skip taking a hotel at the beach and stay a few hundred meters away and take a taxi down to beach (50-100 pesos). Wonderful beach ....... More
