Everyone calls Alona a mini Boracay. It really isn't. The beach is average, food is over priced and you never get a minute away from someone hounding you for an underwhelming boat trip

I visited a diving shop there for the scub diving license. Especially the pictures of the beautiful beach was one of the reason why I chose a diving shop in Alona beach, because I thought I could also spend some time snorkling or resting on the white sand beach. The beach was beautiful although it was said that it is... More

There's really nothing wrong with this beach, it has whitesand, crystal clear water a lot if hotels and restaurant. Its similar to a little boracay but not quite. It can be very crowded too. The beach stretch is very limited that you walk from end to wnd in 10 minutes. The beachfront is not very swimmable because of sea grass.... More

Alona beach is just like boracay and puerto galera when it comes to feel and look of the beach. Only when high tide Alona's shore line gets really small. Which makes it hard to swim. But the sand is fine and white, the water is very clear. Go to dumaluan for a day of beach bumming..

I liked the general experience of my 2 weeks in Alona beach. Walking on the beach at sunrise with my fiancee was a great experience. Food was good, although a little more expensive than I was expecting . I love the people, ok they want your pesos, but I did not find them overly bothersome. After a few days a... More

We had high hopes of finding a great beach town, but we're let down. Like others have said, the beach isn't the best for swimming, you have to deal with pushy vendors all day and night, and it is crowded. Cost is more expensive here for average food too. The beach has some pollution, but isn't too bad. We rented... More

Pushy vendors, average overpriced food, poor swimming conditions and loud at night. Go there to see it for yourself and then go to a guiet location like Linaw Resort. You can alway go to Aloha if you need to.

The beach life is very crowded with resorts and restaurants all looking for the tourist dollar.Food is too expensive and so is the beer when compared to other areas. I prefer the 30 minutes trike to Tabilaran city for the Chinese food and massage which I felt was much cheaper and more varieties. But, I love the diving in Balicasag... More

I'm not a huge fan of Alona Beach. it's pretty touristy and the beach itself isn't that great. Still, it is clean, and there are lots of restaurants and guesthouses and good nightlife. I only stayed here so I could dive at Balicasag island, about 20-30 minutes away by boat, which is paradise in a nutshell. I think it's more... More
