The beach is nothing exceptional, too much touristy stuff and nowhere to relax and tan in peace. It's nice in the evening for dinner and drinks. I want to leave a comment about the whale shark trip that everyone wants to do: for us, it was more than a 3 hour boat trip one way (so total of about 7... More

The beach is quite nice but of course there are better beaches in the Philippines like Boracay. Every beach is different. Some areas of the beach are full of sea shell. So it's a bit difficult to walk barefoot. Anyway, it's worth to check it out.

As the title states "It's not Boracay". We spent 3 nights here and are now in Boracay. Alona Beach is far smaller (to small) with less choices for everything. If in Bohol this would be a good area to visit, but for us, island hopping, I wished we skipped it and spent more time in Boracay.

The beach is nice and clean but the shoreline needs to be maintained better. Lots of garbage and debris. 2-3 wooden boats being repaired so lot so hammering and work amid sunbathers and swimmers.

They say you come here for the nightlife, but the most of the restaurants and bars close at around 10-11pm. There are lots of good places to choose from though, so it's still a good place to hang out at night. Lots of fresh seafood and grilled meat sold near the shore and it's perfect for some dinner and drinks... More

Alona beach is a great place to relax, have a massage, go for swim or just do nothing. There's a cluster of good restaurants selling fresh seafoods. There is also a police station nearby so you will feel safe when walking at night. It was a relatively clean beach.

Not a very good atmosphere compared to Boracay. Beach was very dirty, garbage everywhere, too many boats, not many places to sit or lay at the beach. Overpriced, pretty dead, has no flair, no attraction. Not good for swimming between the boats and not good for kids to play at the shore because of all the seaweed. The restaurant and... More

When our resort offered zero nightlife and a bar that shut at 10pm! After the first night we ventured out and discovered Alona Beach a few miles away (cab ride)... This place is great and has a definate buzz and the locals very friendly and polite... There are plenty of great beach front places to eat, some small shops to... More

Great beach with a very nice atmosphere! Of course there some vendors but they are all very friendly and not annoying at all. If you want to get a massage (recommended!) make sure you ask for the (partly) blind couple Christina and her husband Remy/Reny. Their massages are very good and you and they will both benefit!

The beach itself was nice and the charm of the Philipinnes was present. The drawback, lots of vendors constantly trying to sell you something which to some adds to the charm, to others it's annoying. The water was very shallow with lost of seaweed. Most tourist were European or Asian. If that matters to you, me I like people!
