Not too touristy but beautiful white sand beaches and great inexpensive restaurants. I stayed at the Flower Garden Hotel 1 block away and it was Amazing

Beautiful beach wherein the sand in part of it are almost comparable to Station 2 of Boracay. The best time to swim is during high tide as the sea grass are further off. There are many options for eating with an abundance of sea food; these are cheaper alternatives to hotels. Beach gets busy during night-time as the establishments set-up... More

Alona Beach is a great place for people-watching, fresh seafood, and just relaxing on the sand. But it's not the best place to enjoy peaceful solitude, and our snorkeling experience was very mediocre. It is convenient to get to, and there are diverse accommodations at a wide range of costs nearby. We spent a couple days there, which was more... More

Beautiful beach. Plenty of restaurants. Tours to chocolate hills all day by van 40 php, whale sharks in Oslob Cebu 3 hours by boat. and other attractions readily available. Transfers to Tagbilaran airport 500php. 20 minute ride. Same to Tagbilaran port for ferry to Cebu airport. Ferry 2 hours to Cebu. Friendly and safe. ATM nearby just a short walk... More

I really loved the beach! The sand was quite white and clean, and there weren't too many tourists so the area wasn't packed. Lots of restaurants to choose from! The water was quite clear and you can see a lot of fish and starfish!

Spent 7 nights at Alona Beach and enjoyed every minute. We picked Alona Beach to do our open water Padi as we had been told was good diving and the waters were very safe. Both were true. Alona beach has a Good choice of eateries and accomodation. Good swimming and lots to see with the dive and tour boats going... More

Beautiful water and decent places to eat and drink along the water. There are cheaper places further up in the road but even the slightly more expensive places along the beach are cheaper than Boracay where we've just come from!

The local government should review policies for alona beach. Crowded beach establishments too close to the water line take away from the beauty of the beach. Even the water was crowded with boats. They should regulate the number of operators and designate areas for boat parking. I was disappointed upon seeing alona beach and this probably will not be part... More

The beach waters were definitely beautiful and fantastic for snorkeling, but the beach had a feel similar to Boracay. It was beginning to become overcrowded and full of businesses.
