We booked a 5-day stay in Panglao... and saw Alona Beach as our "home base". It has a little bit of everything... from big and medium-sized hotels to inns and B&Bs... small restaurants to no-frills dining... reggae bands to bossa nova singers... spa massages to "under a canopy" set-up. The list goes on! It's a good place for families with... More

We stayed at a hotel near Alona beach . Beach stretches for about 2-3 km of white sand with various bars and restaurants. It is a good place for swimming. Lots of Diving centers and Island tour shops around.

We heard this beach to be relaxing and serene. The sand is very nice and the water is reasonably clear but there isn't a huge amount of beach to enjoy unfortunately. Most of the bars and shops have built out onto the beach and several have their seeting areas extend out onto the sand. The place is filled with canvassers... More

It's a bit of a stretch going there from Tagbilara but if you are going to Panglao you should definitely visit Alone beach. White beaches, good restaurants and nice bars - especially the Bee Farm, some cool tourists shops and plenty of dive shops. A bit of a downer was the construction that was happening, and all the guys asking... More

My second visit with my extended family to Alona Beach was last week. The first was in June 2009. A lot has changed, mostly for the worse. One thing I liked about it in 2009 was the fact that it was low key. Now, everywhere I look, huge multi-room hotels. What's the difference between these places and staying in a... More

Don't miss the other beaches on panglao rent a bike or take a tricykle and check them out. A bike cost 300-400 pesos don't pay more. Very nice beach with alot of diving clubs. We took diving certification with Genisis and they was great. We had a Norwegian instructor that also spoke swedish. He was very good go for genesis.... More

I found it is nice here, peaceful, seems that most places close at 10pm for dinner. The beach is nice also, although Boracay's sand and beach is nicer. It is however more peaceful, but pricey.

Sand is white, soft, and very fine. Water is very clear and clean, the boats and rafts anchored near the shores of the beach are quite disturbing. Best is to go to the far eastern side of the shore, in the Amorita Resort area. Less crowded, not much boats stationed here and sand much finer.
