Hi I'm considering going to Alona beach very in a few days, but the weather forecast shows rain all day BUT it keeps changing. Doe snot seem that accurate. . I know while I was in Thailand, even if it rained, it wasn't that bad and the sun would come out after. Anyone actually there, or just there, who can... More

I went to Alona Beach, Panglao several times since I was still in college. The place is constantly changing but I still love the nice sandy white beach but lately...it's crowded with the motorized bancas and you can hardly find a good place to swim except when you have to move away from these small boats. It used to be... More

A bit crowded now and not that relaxing. If you are looking for some night life, this is where you should go.

The community needs to organize and protect their cash cow. The amount of plastic rubbish on the beach and in the water was really saddening.

I'm quite shocked to see such mediocre to negative reviews about this beach! This was our last stop on our trip to the Philippines and was our favourite beach! We preferred it over Boracay!! Don't get me wrong, Boracay is beautiful but it was also hectic and over commercial. I guess this added to the beauty of Alona, it was... More

Beachfront packed with restaurants, small beach resorts. only possible to safely swim when all the boats leave in the morning to bring tourists on day trips to other islands, beaches, diving trips..Get off the beach once you see the first boats coming back to ensure you do not get injured...

Didn't expect it to be so small. You can walk the whole stretch in 10 mins. Really enjoyed having my dinner at the beach with the live band accompanied.

From Tagbilaran pier we took the 45min tricycle ride to Alona Beach - we didn't have a reservation at a hotel/resort (ok in low season) so we walked the extremely narrow beach riddled with resorts and restaurants. Swimming at Alona is nearly non-existant except for maybe the far ends where less boats are. The rest crammed with boats - however,... More

A choice of different style of menus and the beach was great. No dislikes. Swimming was great and not crowded.
