I'm quite shocked to see such mediocre to negative reviews about this beach! This was our last stop on our trip to the Philippines and was our favourite beach! We preferred it over Boracay!! Don't get me wrong, Boracay is beautiful but it was also hectic and over commercial. I guess this added to the beauty of Alona, it was... More

Beachfront packed with restaurants, small beach resorts. only possible to safely swim when all the boats leave in the morning to bring tourists on day trips to other islands, beaches, diving trips..Get off the beach once you see the first boats coming back to ensure you do not get injured...

Didn't expect it to be so small. You can walk the whole stretch in 10 mins. Really enjoyed having my dinner at the beach with the live band accompanied.

From Tagbilaran pier we took the 45min tricycle ride to Alona Beach - we didn't have a reservation at a hotel/resort (ok in low season) so we walked the extremely narrow beach riddled with resorts and restaurants. Swimming at Alona is nearly non-existant except for maybe the far ends where less boats are. The rest crammed with boats - however,... More

A choice of different style of menus and the beach was great. No dislikes. Swimming was great and not crowded.

I hate it when the beach resorts take over the beach shores. This is exactly the case at Alona. Filled with Bars and Hotels that extend far too close to the shoreline. It's really an eyesore. Too crowded and noisy.

I came to Alona Beach for DIVING. I found Go Scuba...and truly believe they are TOPS! There are many restaurant, vendor, massage, store, and tour choices here-- and everyone is FRIENDLY! There was no pressure felt, as on many Thai or Cambodian beaches. and-- the water is clean...all that's seen in it at the shoreline is the sea kelp +coral... More

Totally disappointed. Worst beach I've ever seen. Very commercialiSed. All the buildings are super close to the beach so you don't have any space to enjoy the beach. What little space you have is taken over by local touters. Even the Sea is full with boats so no space either to enjoy a good swim! We went here for a... More

Relaxing beach with lots of places to eat out and massages being offered for reasonable price. There's quite a few good island hopping available. Dont miss the whale-shark snorkeling and the trip to Virgin Island and negotiate always.
