For those that have been to Boracay and have enjoyed it, will understand. Alona is a small beach town. Most of the tourists are backpackers. It has white sand on it's beach but not fine or clean like in Boracay and the stretch is short and the strip is narrow due to the restaurant and hotels built so close to... More

Everything you'd expect from a resort area. The beach itself is nothing special, although there's plenty of space for the number of people. I certainly wouldn't consider staying there fit more than a night or two. It was fairly affordable from a USD point of view.

I have been in Bohol for 1 month now, and can really tell that Alona Beach is for people who do not want any privacy or if you want massage at the beach and want to eat as soon as you get hungry. It's actually not crowded at all. You can rent umbrella and chair also(about 450p). The view there... More

Love Alona beach. The view of the boats anchored off the beach, the beach its self, all makes for a wonderful relaxing holiday. Will be going back.

It is definitely worthwhile to visit Bohol but maybe not specifically for this beach. There are number of other beaches in the Philippines that are a lot nicer and less busy. There are a number of things to do here and worth a visit if travelling around the island but to specifically come here for the beach would be a... More

There are nicer beaches not far away - BBC for example. Less people, nice restaurant, sun loungers, pool. They ask for 600 PHP for the entrance but 450 PHP you can eat at the restaurant...

Went there just to go to the water. I can say it is not that crowded as Boracay but it's smaller and there's really nothing special to see. They have white sand and cleaner water than Boracay.

Nice beach but full of tourists. Not my kind of atmosphere. Way too "touristy" and packed. I think you can find a better less packed beach.

If your a scuba diver this is a good place to party and get a boat from lot's of restaurants and bars, if your looking for a peaceful beach don't go here, it's untidy, crowded and you are pestered by sales agents. It's worth paying to use the facilities at Bohol Beach Club north of Alona.
