I went on a cruise with Loch Shiel Cruises with my wife and a sizeable number of her American relatives who were over for our wedding. We all had a great time on the cruise. Jim, the Captain knows the area like the back of his hand and was able to point out groups of red deer as well as... More

Almost cancelled weather in Archaracle so bad but glad we didn't Jim made us very welcome & his dog! mist cleared & the sun shone only 4 on board. Amazing scenery with help from Jim were able to photograph Red Deer, Eagles & best of all Black Throated Divers. HIghly recommend an afternoon aboard Sileas. Thank you really enjoyed it.

Despite poor weather, the full loch cruise proved to be fascinating and scenic. Jim Michie's entertaining commentary covered the Jacobite connections, the social history of the area, the wildlife (sightings not guaranteed - its wild!), anecdotes etc. All in the glorious setting of Loch Shiel, with the Glenfinnan monument and viaduct as the backdrop. Good value; highly recommended.

What an excellent time we had! We took the 2.5 hr Sunday cruise and from the moment on board we felt comfortable and welcome. The Captain was both knowledgable and wise, giving enough information without speaking all the time. He gave out blankets and had spare binoculars. We saw eagles and red deer (far away but fun). I did not... More

This is a great trip. We took our 3 year old grandson and 70+ mum and they both loved it. We took the 1 hour trip which was good value at £10. The weather was great, the scenery is magic but it is the skipper who makes this. Jim is a genial host, informative and engaging. If you are anywhere... More

It seems there are three options; a one hour, a two and a half hour and a three and a half hour cruise on offer each covering a part of the loch proportionate to the duration. We took the two and a half hour cruise and it was every bit as good as I'd hoped. Jim Michie who runs the... More

Lovely restored small naval tender which plies up and down the loch. Coffee/ tea / snacks available and a loo. Jim is knowledgeable about the wildlife, geology and history around the loch and you may see golden eagles and / or sea eagles. Reasonable prices- you need warm clothes and binos. You can also see the Jacobite Steam Train going... More

To start with, where can you get a full days entertainment for £25 a head. Yes, we were lucky and the weather was glorious but this would have been a great trip in any weather. We were also extremely lucky with the birds. We saw a lone Sea Eagle on the way up the Loch and saw a pair in... More

We did the morning cruise as a family group of 7 adults, one toddler and one baby. We all enjoyed every moment and it was worth every penny. A great trip for all ages. Watching the train go over the viaduct and eagle spotting was fun for all. The trip was very interesting and informative and the skipper was very... More
