We went to see the golden eagles of course, but they were lacking in turning up. As it went this didn't matter. There were just four of us on our cruise so we got a bit spoiled. Captain Jim kept popping out to point things out and showing us the sights to look out for- he is a true character... More

I couldn't find fault with this cruise if I tried! Welcoming, cheerful and knowledgeable skipper who took a great deal of trouble to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy, providing drinks and snacks, blankets to keep the chill away and binoculars to spot deer, gull chicks and, best of all, two golden eagles soaring above us. The scenery was... More

My wife died recently and wanted her ashes spreading on Loch Shiel, close to where Mike Tomkies used to live. Jim took his boat right inshore, as close as he could so that the position was perfect for Joanne's final resting place and even gave us a drink to toast Joanne's memory. Jim's commentary on the cruise was very informative,... More

I recently went on the 2.5hr cruise, apart from the weather it was really enjoyable - the captain was really helpful and friendly providing blankets to sit and binoculars for passengers. Commentary was really infortmative, and plenty of wildlife to see!

Mid-July we were fortunate enough to enjoy the splendid company of Jim Michie and crew for a sentimental family affair; many of us had travelled from Australia, and other parts of the UK to partake in the outing. The relaxed atmosphere, amid at times turbulent weather conditions (it seems that intermittent sunshine during summer is available on request), were complimented... More

After throughfully planning our day out including the Loch Shiel cruise, my family (my wife, my three daughthers and me) arrived at pier 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time (at 2pm), to find Jim having his lunch. He told us to go and have something to eat at the nearby Glenfinnan hotel (where he recommended to leave our car).... More

I' m sorry for ruining your "thoroughly planned out day". I am totally committed to my customers and endeavour to give them them the best experience within my capabilities. Money, while it is important to the success of the business has never been my top priority. The real facts of the situation are: No advance booking was made. On talking... More

What a lovely man the guy who runs this is so enthusiastic and knows the water and countryside well, however wrap up warm, he does provide blankets but it was cold and wet, he also supplies good binoculars, well worth the money.

We went on this boat on a cold day and I feared it could be a rough trip so took a travel pill. There was more movement on a car ferry across a loch the next day. The boat cut through the water which made it so still for taking photos. The talk we were given was so interesting and... More

A very relaxing and informal day out on a very friendly boat. Skipper Jim gives an interesting commentary at times when it's needed, but leaves you at peace when it's not. You'll not be bothered by any inappropriate music either. Whatever the weather, Loch Shiel is beautiful but can be chilly. Blankets are available, but I would say take some... More

Definately the highlight of my 3 day visit to beautiful Glenfinnan. Booked the full loch cruise as wanted to see as much of the loch and wildlife as possible. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very kind to us on the day, but I didn't let this spoil the trip. Jim the skipper was wonderful. He seems to know everything there is... More
