Amazing day out - great value for money - comfortable boat - tea / coffee available if you want amazing scenery - saw red deer - golden eagle - didn't see the whitetail eagle - the skipper jim is extremely knowledgable and points out any wildlife and areas of interest . His associate was equally knowledgable and helpful . Had... More

We particularly wanted to see Gaskan, the Wilderness home of Author Mike Tomkies for 13yrs. Pre holiday I emailed Jim to check we could take our 3 Border Terriers on board. Very quickly received a lovely reply and no problems taking the dogs. We did the Wednesday full day cruise on a lovely warm sunny day. The boat is well... More

this cruise leaves from Glenfinnan just outside the hotel. They offer various cruises, one hour, two or 2,5 hours. We did the Wednesday one, going the whole stretch of the loch. The one hour one affords you to have a look at the steamtrain crossing the viaduct. Jim, the skipper, is an old hand and tells a great, not too... More

In the programme of a visit to the West Highlands with my husband and two other people I included a cruise on Loch Shiel as a diversion, partly to see some new scenery accompanied by an expert, and partly to give my husband a rest from driving. I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed it! Jim was extremely pleasant, first... More

Loch Shiel is one of the most unspoilt and beautiful of Scottish Lochs, the cruise itself was the most reasonably priced and interesting I've been on. If you only go on one Scottish Loch this would be the one to choose!

we booked a private 2 hour charter with Captain Jim for our wedding day. We had 20 guests who loved it. Jim gave commentary and pointed out a pair of golden eagles. Would highly recommended a cruise, great value.

Jim provides an interesting and informative commentary and is a considerate host. He is also quick.to see and point out the wildlife on the shores of the Loch. This year was our third visit and we will be back next year. Thanks Jim :-)

Loch Shiel is wonderful - a gorgeous loch surrounded by impressive mountains - and you can do a cruise in the mornings, afternoons or all day (in September 2014 the all-day cruises were on Wednesdays only). Wrap up warm and take your binoculars - though to be honest, even if you don't, Jim (your captain and guide) sets out equipped... More

I went on a cruise with Loch Shiel Cruises with my wife and a sizeable number of her American relatives who were over for our wedding. We all had a great time on the cruise. Jim, the Captain knows the area like the back of his hand and was able to point out groups of red deer as well as... More
