We booked the two hour trip to Glenaladale, and were the only two on the boat. Jim made us very welcome and we set off down the beautiful Loch Sheil. For anyone interested in the history of the area and the wildlife, this trip is a must. We sat at the front with a hot chocolate and shortbread - whilst... More

Booked this cruise after reading the other revues and are we glad we did! The commentary from Jim the skipper was always informative but never overdone and he was always willing to answer all manner of queries. The scenery was ... well... just sublime which does it no justice really. We were thankful we took a set of binoculars as... More

Had a great time with our kids 7,9 and12. Blankets and refreshments available on board but you still must dress warmly. We were there on a sunny August day but on the Loch in a boat other passengers were cold! More

We took the trip from Glenfinnan to Acharacle and back. It was a beautiful day and to spend it relaxing on the boat as the scenery opened up before us was perfect. Jim hits the right note with his commentary: informative but not constant, and he added to it on the return trip so it wasn't just a repeat for... More

Took the trip from Acharacle to Glenfinnan up the whole long length of lonely Loch Shiel. What is special about this trip is that Loch Shiel does not have any road or settlement on its length and the countryside around it is beautiful, wild and remote. Yet the Loch is an ancient natural communication route from Moidart. Jim, the guide... More

I agree with the other reviews; this is a delightful cruise in the company of a skipper who clearly loves both the scenery and history of the loch, and his beloved boat the MV Sileas. In a world of impersonal customer service and 'bare minimum' delivery it was really nice to spend a couple of hours in the unmatched serenity... More

We went on a boat trip on Loch Shiel today. Went on the 10:45 for two hours. The boat is really nice in that fact it is basic but well does the job. The owner Jim gives a really good narrative on trip through some of the best scenery you will ever see. If you visiting the Glenfinnan Monument &... More

Loch Shiel Cruises run and owned by Jim Michie is an excellent Scottish attraction. Loch Shiel is a sea loch but because it narrows to about 6 feet at "sea point" it is quite sheltered. The scenery is beautiful, the cruise (about 2 hours) is very relaxing. We had five single sightings of Golden Eagles plus one sighting of a pair. Gently... More

If you are in this beautiful part of Scotland, pay a visit to the Glenfinnan monument which has spectacular views over Loch Shiel, and then move on to Loch Shiel Cruises (details at the visitors centre) for a fascinating and informative trip down the loch to take in the majestic scenery and view some of the local wildlife. We had... More
