One of the best beaches in Chania prefecture, quite untouched and unexplored. Many travelers use the area around the beach as a free camping spot. It is actually a cedar forest next to the beach. It is also a favorite beach for naturists. The road up to Elafonisi is quite good and then you need to take a non asphalt road for about 10 minutes. Then you also need to take a walk path for another 15-20 minutes. No matter the time you will need to go there, it's sure that you will enjoy that unique beach.

I rated this "excellent" as it is., without to rate organization which is nearly zero. Only parking garbage is taken occasionally and that should be all, unfortunately. As I said here and elsewhere Greeks should learn to take care, well pack and properly sell their natural treasures. Making basic but fully functional facilities, employing people and charging entrance are the... More

THe beach is on easy to find but it is one of the most beautiful i have ever visited. Totally unspoilled. The access is not very easy. You need to be equipped because it is not an organised beach. Alos some people do free camping there.

A bit off the beaten path, this beach is a great alternative to Elafonissi when the mid-day tour busses are there. It's a pack in, pack out beach, with lovely cedar trees, rock outcroppings for privacy, and crystal clear water. Great for nude bathing. It is not clear who is responsible for maintenance and, although the beach is very clean,... More

A very nice beach to visit and rest for a whole day! Take with you water or sandwiches and be prepared to stay for at least 8 hours under the shadow of a tree! It is a little bit difficult to reach but nevermind the view and the crystal clear waters will refund you!!

Follow the indications given by other reviewers. After leaving the car, you will walk down a path for 5/10 minutes. Then head to the left. At the back of the beach there are these juniper trees, but the beach is still very wide. The waters are crystalline. We went for a late afternoon swim, it was spectacular and very quiet,... More

In July 2014, we struggled looking for this "nudist beach". Thanks to this conversation, we decided to ask the locals to explain us where to go to reach this beach. We finally found someone who explained us this (and it was clear enough): When you go down to Elafonissos by car, after having passed many green-houses, you will get a... More

This beach is close to elafonisi but it is much quieter and just as beautiful. It is difficult to find but if you turn off left on the dirt road signposted for paleochora before you reach elafonisi and look out for little yellow signposts you will eventually (after going through a lot of greenhouses!) reach a car park by a... I went there this summer with a friend. It was many people around, many of them using it for a freecampingarea. We went away from the mainbeach and found a small bay where we were more or less alone, just slept on the beach with a sheet under us and a thin sleeping bag on top of us. The best... More

Rather congested around the rocks. Well placed though for local food and refreshment and sun loungers and umbrellas available.
