We went by motorcycle to Balos. First we drove to Kissamos and then we drove 8 km more. Afterwards it was 2 km walking to get to Balos Beach. The walk was really worth it if you love nature. We saw a lot of fresh herbs like rosemary, thym, sage. You should be good on footh to do the walk... More

Me and 3 friends went on a day trip to here from Chania (1 hour coach, 50min boat ride). First we went to the beach for 2 hours, then to Gramvousa island for 2 hours. The beach at Balos is beautiful, real paraside island stuff and the water is so clear and refreshing. There is a little shack that serves... More

I and my family liked everything. We took a day cruise from Kissamos port to Gramvoussa island and Balos Lagoon. We took the smaller boat(among the three ones) which proved excellent choice for disembarking or embarking on the boat easily. The service on the boat (drinks and food self service) was excellent. The Balos Lagoon was a superb scene, the... More

PERFECT. The bus goes to the parking lot, and it cost from Kissamos 5€ for round trip. You have to walk across the mountain for about 2 km, but it's worth the struggle! But you should get the bottle of water when going back, because you have to go up, like, million stairs with no shadow :) Also my BF... More

Balos, Balos, Balos. Not exactly the words my girlfriend was saying as we climbed our way out of the lagoon but close. The route in is along a bumpy, rocky brown road that turns into wacky races if you have boy racers in a hire car close by. The drive up the 5km dirt track although manageable is hard work.... More

Warm water and soft sand. Great for familes because the water is so shallow on the other side. Small grill etc. would be nice.

I love the light blue color of water on Balos. Water is warm and shallow do you can easily speed the whole day out there. What I do not reccomend is getting there by car. The road is stony and curved. You better spend 20 euro and get there by ship. But be careful. There is a big ship that... More

The roads were horable to get there. The walk with kids was bad and long. A lot of topless women. Food not so great. Water was great.

Balos beach was well worth the long journey for us. The views were fantastic, the water crystal clear, shallow and warm. I had a thoroughly relaxing day here. You will need to take some things into account if traveling here by road: 1. There is a two euro per person toll when getting to the dirt road that leads to... More
