We took El Chepe in Chihuahua on a Tuesday morning. There was almost no people, so there was almost no need to arrive at 5:15 at the station. The train is very clean, the food wagon serves a good but quite expensive breakfast (you can't take any cookies on the train, so if you want to eat something, you need... More

We joined the train in El Fuerte and settled in. The scenery was fairly undramatic as we slowly climbed. Then we crossed a river and the scenery just got better and better. For Europeans, it's great to be able to stick your head out of the window, take photos and watch the buying and selling at the stations. But above... More

The train is comfortable and the scenery is magnificent. Hamburger on the train was good and the bathrooms were clean.

We took the train from Cuauhtemoc to Barrancas de Cobre. I've been to the Sierra often by car, but this was a totally different aspect of the mountains. Beautiful scenery! The train was very clean. For those who say it's old, you probably took ehte 2nd class train. There are 1st class tickets available(expensive!) and 2nd class(about half price). I'm... More

Incredible views, dozens of tunnels on its way to the heart of the Sierra Madre in Chihuahua; the train crew is very friendly, the overall service is, hmm, it could improve, but is fair. The Barrancas is a must do stop. Strongly recommended before the beautiful forest gets chop down. About insecurity, there are federal officers on board, its hmm,... More

We started our trip in El Fuerte at a wonderful hotel for the first night. The train was clean and neat and seemed to be well taken care of. Not first class but very good. Service was excellent although choices were limited. I was much more interested in the scenery which was spectacular. The climb from desert to mountain terrain... More

You can do without the chepe to see the copper canyon, as by Van organized by the hotels is more beautiful as you can stop more often. I found it extremely expensive, service is not of first class neither is the train. I wanted to see an old train with a beautiful wood dining car and I guess my expectations... More

I took the train first at El Fuerte on August 2nd, and the dining car had literally waterfalls coming from the air conditioning onto the tables, and nobody did anything to correct it or at least put a bucket to collect the water, unbelievable! But the worst was yet to come. On august 5th we took the train from Posada... More

God just gave us the opportunity to have in our hand the opportunity to travel in the "chepe" and have the best sight seeing trip you will ever have. I would recomend you to take the train form Cuauhtemoc city to divisadero (if you want to get down in the copper canyon), but if you have enought of time take... More

one of the best 10 trips by train in all the world: tunnels, bridges over the Copper Canyon that is larger and deeper than the Colorado one. You have to see it. Amazing.
