After travelling to Bangkok a few times and never having been to a Floating Market, we decided to give Amphawa Floating Market a go. We rented a car and driver from our hotel for 4,000 baht for 7 persons and it was a smooth drive out to the market which is about an hour out of Bangkok. We went on... More

I had read a lot of reviews about the Amphawa floating market, some were good and some suggested how awful it is but I wanted to experience it first My experience - The market is nothing too great. The water is dirty and smelly. The shops are seeking the same goods which are available in Bangkok but at a higher... More

Only do this if you are in a large group or are very rich. You have to pay for a whole boat and don't get to keep the boat. Then you have 1.5 hours stopping at never ending souvenir stalls whilst breathing diesel fumes. The one hour each way journey through Bangkoks industrial suburbs is frankly depressing. The only reason... More

Such a local floating market you should visit once when you go to Amphawa! There are several local food and also souvenirs here. The weather was very hot, though.

Somebody don't know that Amphawa floating market has night market and quite bigger than day night. The most important is not hot weather as afternoon time. Some restaurant open on the side road that the food is quite nice.

The place is very lovely. Apart from it is very close to Bangkok, the food here is amazing. Historically this part of the central region was the stomach of Thailand where everything grows and plenty of fish in the river. While Amphawa is generally inclining towards tourism and cultural activities, it is trying to maintain its quality and true identity... More

This market only open from fir to sun and it's crowded even on a Saturday afternoon. I didn't stay overnight but visited the tree temple, which we really like it. The floating market have a good range of seafood and many other boat selling other variety. There is also plenty of stall selling clothing and souvenirs and food. At least... More
