I went with a group of about 7 friends during the week in the early evening and we had a great time. We hired a little boat that took us through the canal where the market is and then out too the main river. We saw some beautiful old houses and lovely temples along the river. Back in the market... If you've never experienced a "floating market," the Amphawa Floating Market is the place to go! It's about 75 minutes southwest of Bangkok, but worth the long ride for a day of shopping, adventure and great memories. It's one of those unbelievable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you'll never forget. You travel up and down these narrow canals in a little canoe-like... More

Visited Amphawa Floating Market during a very crowded Sunday afternoon. Some hawkers trade from boat and there was a boat offering massage. A place to sample some local delicacies.

It is an experience but it is so packed with tourists that boats are bumping into each other and you barley move. had more fun in Bangkok going through the local market and tasting different things and meeting the patrons.

Very nice and authentic floating market. Not that crowded with many specialties we didn't see before, special sweets and food. A very nice and interesting experience.

Been to a few floating markets in Thailand. What's unique about Amphawa Floating Market is the visitors here are mostly thai. We went on a Sunday late afternoon during February. There were hundreds of people here. Besides myself, I observed only two other westerners. The food here is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The freshness and variety of the... More

Interesting place and not too crowded. We had a good taxi who brought us there and we enjoyed the boat ride. Part of the ride includes visting a mini zoo. Nothing to woah about but a good short break from the boat. Many shops to see and you need a day to walk around

We wanted to go there from Bangkok but we've been scammed by the taxidriver who dropped us out in the Damnoen Saduak market (I didn't like this one, very touristy and no local people). But finally we insist the taxidriver to go to the bus station to ask where the Ampahawa floating market is. We visited this area with the... More

Go by boat if possible to get the full effect. It was fabulous and authentic. I would highly recommend this. About 90 min from Bangkok.
