Visited this many times & love it as it still retains the quirky uniqueness of the Thai creativity. Inexpensive local cuisine & fruits in season.

Amphawa floating market is great fun. And it has great seafood. It's only open at weekends. And it's about 2 hours from central Bangkok. A lot of Thai people come here to eat from the boats at the floating market. Not so many foteign tourist. Which make it even better

Floating market has been a fond for vistors to Thailand. Amphawa is one of the two. Amphawa is more localised than the other. Therefore, price is less tourism. However, this market only operated during Friday, Saturday , Sunday and Public Holidays. You might found a bit congested along the narrow walkway whilest a lot of local Thai stuffs to offer.... More

Interesting place to visit if you have not been there. However this place has become commercialized. You can have grilled seafood by the river. There are many seafood restaurants by the river and take your time to pick one. How to get there from Bangkok? Take a BTS to Victory Monument. From Victory Monument BTS station, walk towards Century Mall.... More

Few foreigners has found this jewel just 1.5 hour outside Bangkok, and hopefully it will remain so. My method of going: hop on a mini van (80 baht, outside KFC) at BTS Victory Monument's Century Mall. It will be a bumpy ride, and maybe stuffy as my van had strong fans instead of air conditioning. They will drop you, maybe... More

If you want to experience an authentic Thai market by the river, and beside a temple this place is highly recommended. We visited during a public holiday and reached the place at noon. It was teeming with people. Most of the tourists I saw were Thai. It's a dry and wet market with almost everything available. Most items tagged were... More

If your trip keeps you in Bangkok or within close range, then Amphawa is a great choice. Hotels are affordable and nice, and the things-to-do can easily fill a weekend Nd the floating market in particular is a good recommendation.

It's one of the best place near Bangkok to visit! It's full of foods, attractions, vintage decorations, and you won't see a lot of foreigners. the market open in the afternoon till late in the evening, the 1 hour boat trip to visit around and to see firebugs is about 60b which is very cheap compare to other places in...
