It is easy to get to this Floating market. It cost me only 180 Baht. to get to this floating market and Maeklong market. The floating market itself is a street of shopping and eating outlets on both side of the river. The food here is great and cheap. You can also order from the boat seller. They have a... More

When you're in bangkok, treat yourself to a half a day trip to Amphawa floating market. I got there just pass mid-day and the market was bustling with street and boat vendors selling the most delicious seafood and snacks. I then took a local boat tour to see the surrounding temples - a nice way to cool down from the... More

I didn't have too high expectations of this floating market as my previous experience (with another floating market) was rather dull and uneventful. I decided to visit anyway because my mom never been to one. So it was a pleasant surprise that I really enjoyed this place. It was vibrant, lots of activities and everything smells delicious! The floating market... More

Great little market, wasn't what I expected, got some food on the steps while locals made food in a wooden boat... Then wandered about sampling some food, followed by an evening on a boat looking for fireflies, which are quite beautiful.

I'm quite sure we picked one of the busiest days of the year to go to Amphawa. It was the weekend after the New Year when everyone is still on vacation with the long weekend. There was no floating market, no tourists, tons of locals and it was awesome! I think we hit a unique weekend. The items for sale... More

We visited the floating market after maeklong railway market, it wasn't that touristy! A lot of locals use the market. The food stalls / street food were yummy. We also took a long tail boat ride this was a pleasant hour long ride, if you have the time, well worth doing.

It is an interesting place to visit around Bangkok however I would not put as the first priority to visit. The floating market concept is very interesting and also to see how many boats can fit into one small place. See how people live around that region is also quite different. Handcraft is not a must. Most of products are... More

Passed by this floating market on our way back to Bangkok. No regrets. Few tourist as this market is patronized mostly by local Thais. We arrived around lunch time with the market starting to come alive. Some store were still setting up although there were a lot of food stalls already open. Got to try some such as the crispy... A little under 2 hours out of Bangkok, this attraction is well worth the visit. Although it is close, it is best to allow a day to get there and return. English is not common, but not necessary as most signs & pricing are in English. The food is incredibly fresh and you can comfortably feed four people very cheaply.... More
