I fell in love the first time I visited the market back in Feb. Came back again for Songkran and got my friend to join in. Took the train from Thorn Buri to see the train market before heading to Amphawa. Despite the long journey heading south west, the wait is definetly worth it. Seafood is affordable and you could... Amphawa floating marketing. Is the all in one place for eating and local shopping, not so far from Bangkok, only an hour away. I enjoy shopping for local food and local craft and eating beside the canal , buying food from the boat. Besides, Amphawa also got many chic cafe and chic place to stay. The place is always crowded... More

This float market is good to visit on Weekend. More fresh seafood and Thai simple dish cook and serve from the boat. If you are full, Riverside seeing by the long tail boat is the good to see Thai riverside lifestyle.

We went with some local friends and really enjoyed it. You walk along tight wooden boardwalks next to shops which are more shack than house. Its busy but in a fun way, about 50% of the people there are local. The food was great - Boats grilling prawns, clams and squid or making pad thai. We went in the late... More

I went with a group of about 7 friends during the week in the early evening and we had a great time. We hired a little boat that took us through the canal where the market is and then out too the main river. We saw some beautiful old houses and lovely temples along the river. Back in the market... If you've never experienced a "floating market," the Amphawa Floating Market is the place to go! It's about 75 minutes southwest of Bangkok, but worth the long ride for a day of shopping, adventure and great memories. It's one of those unbelievable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you'll never forget. You travel up and down these narrow canals in a little canoe-like... More
