Our B&B hostess recommended Tony and we are glad she did. We met at the Burren Centre and the weather was just right - clear and not hot. Our group was a bit larger than his usual and I was really pleased at how much time he gave all of our questions. The area Tony chose for the tour had... More

I couldn't resist the frosted flakes shout out... But seriously, Tony really is a fabulous guide for a walk in the Burren. I only wish we could have gone on a longer walk with him! Tony has a rare mix of knowledge of archaeology, botany, history and zoology, and he tells his tales with an obvious passion. We highly recommend... More

We met Tony for his regular walk across The Barren, sun was shining and a very international group, some 13 of us, which he said is large for his walks which average out at about 6, set off. Tony provided a wealth of information on history, archaeology, flora and fauna, agriculture with a little bit of poetry and a lot... More

All seventeen of us, ranging in age from 2-70, enjoyed our walk through the Burren. Tony charmed us with history, poetry and his sense of humor! He is extremely knowledgeable, personable and certainly contributed to our family trip to Ireland!

The Burren can best be described as a moonscape, where flowers bloom in a stark environment. Driving through the Burren, one can image the difficult lives of the people trying to grow crops in the face of starvation. Wear sensible shoes and watch where you are walking as the rock is uneven and full of fissures.

Tony from Heart of Burren Walks, took us on a guided walking tour of St. Coleman's Hermitage and Holy Well in The Burren and it was a highlight of our wonderful trip to Ireland. His stories, appreciation and passion for the area made it very special. It was a unique view of a very spiritual area and we highly recommend... More

We enjoyed a lovely guided tour of the burren with Tony Kirby (@walkburren) who shares his incredible knowledge of the history and wildlife associated with the area. Hugely informative and extremely passionate with lots of interesting facts along the way. Would highly recommend Tony's tour.

I booked a walk with Tony as part of a weekend trip to Clare with friends. I grew up in the locality and would have taken plenty of walks in the area previously, but I always wanted to take a guided walk as the area is so full of hidden gems. I am so glad I booked Tony's walk for... More

Grey skies, wind, and showers didn't deter our decision to join Tony Kirby on his walk and talk through the spectacular landscape of the Burren. Geology ,history, archaeology, flora and fauna were all explored and explained as we challenged ourselves on upland walks to gaze entranced at the turloughs on the glacier bed beneath us. Standing beside the ancient potato field,... More
