This was our 6th visit to Ireland and our tour of the Burren with Tony Kirby was clearly the highlight! His strengths as a guide are many: his knowledge, his ability to teach with warmth and enthusiasm, and most of all, his love of the land itself. Just when I thought I really knew Ireland, Tony opened a whole new... More

My husband and I enjoyed the walk and hearing all about the burren (past and present) much better than doing a walk on our own. I would recommend the walk.

My wife, her mother and I spent about 3 wonderful hours with Tony Kirby on the Burren. The weather must of scarred others away so we had Tony all to ourselves and he had our full attention. The walk was relatively easy, even for my 78 year old mother-in-law. Tony's knowledge of the flora, history and geology of the Burren... More

Tony Kirby is an amazing teacher and guide. We were with him for over 3 hours- and completely engaged the entire time. This was such a treasure - lessons on geology, botany, history, politics, Irish culture, agriculture, and poetry. What a fabulous culmination to our 2 week visit to the Emerald Isle! If you can join Tony for a walk,... More

We found details of this walk on the internet before we came to County Clare (our first visit to Ireland). This walk symbolised everything we loved about our stay here - the landscape, the flora and wildlife and the romance of the place. Tony took our group of 7 on a journey back in time, giving us an insight into... More

Our Burren Walk lived up to its reviews. Tony was very knowledgeable about so many things related to the Burren and indeed, Ireland. His intelligence and wit, together with the beauty of this unique area, created a very interesting morning.

We were lucky enough to have Tony recommended to us by our tour guide Des Murphy, and, as it was with the entire trip, he wasn't wrong! If you are an outdoors type that enjoys a good hike, this is the tour for you. Tony is knowledgable, friendly and has many anecdotes and stories to go along with his informational... More

When visiting County Clare, you must drive through The Burren. I green Ireland, you will suddenly feel like you're on the moon. In this area, which has been inhabited for at least 5000 years, there is an ancient grave site. at least that old. It looks like Stonehenge. In this silent barren area, you will feel transported in time.

Wanting to know more about the Burren, we joined Tony on his tour. Our group of 4 were the only ones for the day we chose so it was a very personal experience. Tony is very knowledgable on the Burren, having written guide books for walks there. In his unhurried, personable way, he taught us about the geology, botany, and... More

We wanted to see the flowers in their different habitats which we did with Tony but our time with him was so much more not just because of his deep knowledge of the history of The Burren but also because because of his ability to convey why the region is such a magical and mysterious place.
