I recently worked with Tony Kirby on the GeoParks Life Universal Access Programme promoting accessibility for people with disabilities. He was our guide on this project. He toured us around different areas of the Burren including The Cliffs of Moher, Fanore Beach, the Burren National Park (including Father Ted's House!), Ailwee Caves, and a number of ring forts in the... A few weeks ago we joined Tony in his walk through the Burren. It was a fascinating journey through time and space, showing us why Burren is such a unique place in term of its geology, flora, fauna, archeology and habitats. Its striking, austere beauty hides many secrets which Tony reveals with a great enthusiasm and passion, making the whole... More

It's now a week since we joined Tony as part of a group of seven for a guided walk in the Burren, and it is definitely one of the highlights of our holiday on the western seaboard. Tony has a wealth of knowledge of the landscape and its history which he imparts with great aplomb, peppered with good humour. He... More

Joined Tony Kirby on the last walk of the season Sunday 31st August with my two daughters. He brightened up a wet and windy day with a very entertaining and informative walk in the Burren that lasted over two hours which we all enjoyed and was great value.

Tony Kirby gave us a splendid guided tour of the Burren. He has a wealth of knowledge of the area, its history and flora and fauna. He was able to keep all 5 members of my family interested, including my 15 year old son-and that is not easy. We could have tried to hike it alone but would have missed... More

I have a great interest in Irish history and Geography and as a photographer, I am inspired by the landscape. I knew the natural habitats of the West of Clare held it's own incredible beauty, having traveled there a number of times previously but Tony's tour trumped all that had gone before. With his knowledge, enthusiasm, passion and incredible ability... More

A memorable afternoon spent off the beaten track in the company of an engaging expert, this was a highlight of our holiday. As Tony has a penchant for breaking into verse...... A mass of limestone, moonscape grey Its ancient stories tucked away Of glacial force and famine road A turlough formed where caves implode But every story needs a teller... More

While you can read books and watch videos about the Burren nothing compares to a guided tour with an expert like Tony Kirby. I had visited the Burren before but it had always been a bit of a mystery to me. Tony explained a lot of the history, the geology, archaeology, the flora and fauna but also opened up a... More

We had a very pleasant time strolling around the Burren with Tony Kirby as our guide. Tony's knowledge as a guide is excellent. I got the feeling that he knew every inch of the Burren and that each walk was unique. He has a very easy-going approach but don't be fooled, this man has a wealth of knowledge on all... More

My husband and I had limited time in the Burren but wanted to learn a little more about it. Tony is the ideal guide, both for his knowledge and for his amazing enthusiastic approach to guiding. It was pouring rain on the day we did our hike but it did not dampen Tony's spirit or the amount of time he... More
