I booked a walk with Tony as part of a weekend trip to Clare with friends. I grew up in the locality and would have taken plenty of walks in the area previously, but I always wanted to take a guided walk as the area is so full of hidden gems. I am so glad I booked Tony's walk for... More

Grey skies, wind, and showers didn't deter our decision to join Tony Kirby on his walk and talk through the spectacular landscape of the Burren. Geology ,history, archaeology, flora and fauna were all explored and explained as we challenged ourselves on upland walks to gaze entranced at the turloughs on the glacier bed beneath us. Standing beside the ancient potato field,... More

Everything seems to be a must see in Ireland, but this area is beyond compare. Beautiful and strange, like the far side of the moon.

We went on a walking tour in the Burren with Tony. The tour included the four of us (my parents and partner) and an Italian couple who were there to get information for their travel magazine. The walk focused on the nature and landscape of the Burren. You can see some of what we got up to here: http://jenikya.com/blog/2015/05/a-walk-in-the-burren.html The... More

Tony is a gem. He knows his history, botany, geology, agriculture, and local issues, and he imparts this knowledge while guiding you through the amazing landscape of the Burren. Plus he recites poetry. I've been on his walk twice and I highly recommend it. High time for orchids is mid-May to mid-June. Yes, orchids.

We spent a lovely early spring afternoon walking near Mullaghmore (Sliabh Rua) with Tony. I've been visiting and walking around the Burren for many years but I have to say I gained many new insights on our afternoon with Tony. The walk took us three hours and we learnt about the landscape and its stunning karst scenery the human history... More

My husband and I had Tony all to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed our tour--one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. So much to learn from a man who knows so much about the Burren. I especially enjoyed the poetry he quoted!

We are a group of young adults from Limerick Youth Service went on a Burren Walk tour guided by Tony Kirby and we can only say that we had a totally brilliant time. Tony Kirby is both informative and entertaining and has a lovely way of connecting with and including each member of the group. Tony is very knowledgeable about... More

Thanks Tony for taking us on a gorgeous and really informative walk through the Burren. We're so glad our mates organised this for their wedding guests. It was such a beautiful part of Ireland and to learn about its history and the various flora and fauna as we went was fantastic. I really appreciated your comments on how we can... More
