While you can read books and watch videos about the Burren nothing compares to a guided tour with an expert like Tony Kirby. I had visited the Burren before but it had always been a bit of a mystery to me. Tony explained a lot of the history, the geology, archaeology, the flora and fauna but also opened up a... More

We had a very pleasant time strolling around the Burren with Tony Kirby as our guide. Tony's knowledge as a guide is excellent. I got the feeling that he knew every inch of the Burren and that each walk was unique. He has a very easy-going approach but don't be fooled, this man has a wealth of knowledge on all... More

My husband and I had limited time in the Burren but wanted to learn a little more about it. Tony is the ideal guide, both for his knowledge and for his amazing enthusiastic approach to guiding. It was pouring rain on the day we did our hike but it did not dampen Tony's spirit or the amount of time he... More

I have been visiting the Burren for over 30 years. I have several books on the area. I can honestly say that I learned more during the 2.5 hours of Tony's guided walk than I did in all my prior years of visiting. Tony has a huge amount of knowledge. His passion for his adopted home of the Burren is... More

Walking the Burren with Tony as a guide was like walking through the geologic and social history of Ireland with the added bonus of breathtaking views. If you are going to Ireland, do not pass up this unique opportunity to better understand this landscape and the current geopolitical issues facing Ireland.

My husband and I recently spent an entire day with Tony Kirby, on a tailor made tour in the morning and a scheduled walk in the afternoon. In both programs, Tony took care to greet each of us personally, while checking for interests, needs and background knowledge. He presented his plan before each walk and reviewed concepts along the way.... More

The Heart of Burren Walk with Tony was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. Tony met our group of five near where we were staying in Fanore. He gave us each a walking stick and off we went. Tony's knowledge about the terrain, culture and history of Ireland was very impressive; and the views along the way... More

This was the best thing we did in Ireland. We highly recommend it. First, we went on a walk , in a area, that was off our radar. Tony was so smart, informed and really entertaining.. a great mix. It was just fascinating. We are picky travelers from the US and loved it.

Tony is certainly very passionate about the Burren and all the beauty that comes with it and this shows during his tour. Had I have not been recommended to go on this walk I probably would of driven by the Burren and not seen anything but a lot of rocks. Tony certainly knows his stuff and passionately recounts the history... More

The Burren walk was one of the most enjoyable experiences of our trip. Tony has an extensive knowledge of the history, geology, and ecology of the Burren, and shares it through a fascinating dialog. On its own it is a beautiful place, but Tony's interpretation will allow you to more fully appreciate all the amazing things than compose the Burren.... More
