Tony is a gem. He knows his history, botany, geology, agriculture, and local issues, and he imparts this knowledge while guiding you through the amazing landscape of the Burren. Plus he recites poetry. I've been on his walk twice and I highly recommend it. High time for orchids is mid-May to mid-June. Yes, orchids.

We spent a lovely early spring afternoon walking near Mullaghmore (Sliabh Rua) with Tony. I've been visiting and walking around the Burren for many years but I have to say I gained many new insights on our afternoon with Tony. The walk took us three hours and we learnt about the landscape and its stunning karst scenery the human history... More

My husband and I had Tony all to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed our tour--one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. So much to learn from a man who knows so much about the Burren. I especially enjoyed the poetry he quoted!

We are a group of young adults from Limerick Youth Service went on a Burren Walk tour guided by Tony Kirby and we can only say that we had a totally brilliant time. Tony Kirby is both informative and entertaining and has a lovely way of connecting with and including each member of the group. Tony is very knowledgeable about... More

We took the guided walk of The Burren with Tony and I have to way it was well worth it. He was so full of information and took his time and answered all the questions we had!! There were 4 of us on the walk and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely worth the trip. I do not think we... More

Thanks Tony for taking us on a gorgeous and really informative walk through the Burren. We're so glad our mates organised this for their wedding guests. It was such a beautiful part of Ireland and to learn about its history and the various flora and fauna as we went was fantastic. I really appreciated your comments on how we can... More

A small group of us took a tour of the Burren today with Tony Kirby today after hearing about his excellence as tour guide from Failte Ireland. We were not disappointed! As vast as the Burren is Tony expertly interpreted the fascinating landscape and brought to life the history, culture and environmental wonders of the area. I would highly recommend... More

In August 2014, my husband, adult son, and I joined Tony Kirby for this walk. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Tony is very, very knowledgable about all aspects of this area--history, geology, flora and fauna, etc. We never would have found the trail without him--the drive to the trailhead was on hidden roads and through beautiful countryside, too. I highly recommend... More

In August 2014 a group of 10 people from Hewlett Packard Galway took part in a charity walk of the Burren in aid of the Galway Hospice. A few weeks before setting off we made contact with a number of guides and received a very kind offer from Tony Kirby to bring us on a guided walk of the Burren.... More

If you want a real experience of the Irish landscape with a good measure of history, archaeology, botany, geology, folklore, gaeilge, poetry, great humour and good craic, book Tony Kirby for a guided walk of the Burren. Tony has a lovely style of guiding which enables everyone to learn about the Burren in a way that is engaging and meaningful.
