In August 2014, my husband, adult son, and I joined Tony Kirby for this walk. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Tony is very, very knowledgable about all aspects of this area--history, geology, flora and fauna, etc. We never would have found the trail without him--the drive to the trailhead was on hidden roads and through beautiful countryside, too. I highly recommend... More

If you want a real experience of the Irish landscape with a good measure of history, archaeology, botany, geology, folklore, gaeilge, poetry, great humour and good craic, book Tony Kirby for a guided walk of the Burren. Tony has a lovely style of guiding which enables everyone to learn about the Burren in a way that is engaging and meaningful.

I found the walk interesting and the scenery exquisite. Tony Kirby was a great entertainer and had a great knowledge of the Burren. We was also modest explaining where he got his information and keeping us engaged by asking us questions as a review.

My friends and I went to the Burren for a day out together. My first impression was that I would really enjoy this place. I firstly liked when tony asked us questions. I would like if they put a wall where the fence was broken. After my trip I am more interested in nature and wild life. I would recommend... More

The last week – Monday 20th October, I joined Tony Kirby for an hike (approx. 2 hours) through the Burren. This is an astonishing environment made of stone, wind and secrets rich of meaning hidden in the hazelnut bush. Along pilgrims' walk Tony provides interesting information about flora, fauna (lovely goats) and history, responding to any questions. This hike is... More

The burren bursts into life under the knowledgable stewardship of Tony Kirby. Taking in a range of diverse themes such as wildlife, ecology, history and archaeology (to name but a few), he creates a burren which is unseen by the normal eye. Passionate and engaging, he demonstrates how important this landscape is on the national and international level, and how... More
