I visited Table Mountain two years ago specifically for the abseil experience. I was a little scared when I saw people standing over the edge with their hands in the air, but when the instructor assured me he had the safety rope hooked up safely, I lifted my hands and so the most fantastic picture of the experience was born!... We spent New Years Eve atop Table Mountain and it was a very memorable experience. Most amazing were the unrivaled views. The horizon curved and it seemed as though you could see all the way to the south pole, while the sun set colored the sky dramatically. Of course there are always tourists there, yet it appeared this was a... More

I was travelling solo in SA 2 years ago when I decided to abseil. It was fantastic! The pros were very patient and knowledgeable and they even take LOTS of pictures with your camera as you descend. The "surprise" about halfway down is a good time! The walk back up takes about 30 minutes and it isn't the easiest of... More

Safe, well run operation atop Table Mountain. After a short demonstration of the equipment and how you will descend the mountain your ready to go. After climbing down to where you abseil, they secure you to the rope and have you lean back while they take your picture. Then you go over and descend. You are attached to two ropes... More

We could not leave Capetown without going to Table Mountain. It was clear but so windy and cold. Beautiful views of the entire area.

Did this abseil a few years ago with my missus who had never abseiled before. To say she was nervous was an understatement. Fabulous weather and some Dutch courage aided our descent and the "surprise half way down" was particularly fun. Scariest part was the walk back up to the top with shear drops off to the right. Bought a... More

If you want a different experience on table mt then do this. We were met promptly by friendly staff, that accept all major credit cards, and given a safety briefing. They even take a pic of you before you begin while hanging over the edge and post in on face boom. The abseil itself was safe and fun but over... More

I had a great time hiking up table mountain and abseiling down. The Abseil Africa team was great, the organization was flexible and easy, the guides friendly and clearly know what they're doing, the equipment is good quality and I felt secure all the way. ------- Some more info for the interested: Timing: I went on a Saturday, since I... I had mixed feelings on this and am writing a review to warn people..as I feel I should have been warned and advised as to what was ahead. I did the abseil on a whim..I have done a couple before near ground level, but this is something else. It is very high up! Six of us did it, and 4/6... More
