I would recommend this not only to bird lovers but anyone who wants to learn more about the history of Trinidad in a different context. Theo was amazing as well as the home made food (a real surprise). Very friendly atmosphere! To the Trinidad government please include more about hummingbirds in your syllabus!

I was in a daze for the first 5mins when I visited Yerette for the first time last year. I went back on 13/12/2014 and the sight was out of my imagination. There were about 75 Humming Birds humming their way around the feeders. Such an awesome feeling to sit and watch. This is truly a must visit on your... More

Apparently one of the best places in the world to see hummingbirds I was certainly very impressed! You'll receive an extremely informative talk from Theo about the Hummingbirds whilst they are literally all around the place! Food was included in the price and the soup was AMAZING! Thanks you Gloria!

Yerette is a "must see" in Trinidad. Visiting the private home and gardens of Theo and Gloria is a unique and lovely experience. The drive through the mountains above St. Joseph is beautiful. There are some twists and turns to get there so be sure to call the number on your reservation form and they will guide you. The atmosphere... More

Unique is an overused word but the experience that Theo and Gloria have created in their back garden is most certainly unique. Yerette - an Amerindian word for hummingbird - is an homage to the amazing little birds that come to the couple's garden by the thousand. Theo and Gloria are charming, entertaining and quirky hosts that transmit their enthusiasm... More

In Theo's words, I am now an ambassador of the hummingbird! A lovely way to experience one of Trinidad's treasures. Theo and Gloria have really captured the spirit of these fascinating birds and turned their home into a must-see for anyone visiting Trinidad. I bought two of Theo's amazing photographs and am pleased I have a reminder of my very... More

I've done the Caroni Swamp Tours, the Pitch Lake, Asa Wright ... and many many more attractions that would appeal to the naturalist in Trinidad. But Yerette was by far the most enjoyable, the one that haunted me with it's beauty long after I had left, and which I recommend to all tourists heading for Trinidad. Much of the appeal... More

The experience of watching and photographing the huge number and variety of hummingbirds in the garden at Yerette is a great way to spend three hours. It's really just someone's private house, open for booked visits, where you can have a good home-cooked lunch on the terrace and learn al about the hummingbirds from the charming owner. Take lots of... More
