We decided not to pay for a tour and to visit a winery by ourselves. This winery is close walk to the tram station. Upon arrival we paid for a wine tasting. $150 pesos ( $15 AUD ) for two people to try three wines with a small cheese board each. We even had our own private guide to talk... More

This is a place that produce wine in a very, very large scale. It is interesting to see the process. However, it is simple, very systematic. If you have been in a large wineries in California like Mondavi, this is a similar scale, but Mondavi is nicer setting, and more interesting.

Nice old bodega specialized in sweet wines. Tour by a very cute girl :) The tour just takes 15 minutes.

This tour was very interesting. Kept us moving and got to see the history of the place. The place itself was beautiful and the wine was good. I just wish we got to sample more wines.

Winery tour and vídeo together were overly long and repetitive in places. The guide spoke good English. Wine tasting experience was poor - only two wines offered and the guide just asked us whether we liked it without getting into descriptors/technique etc. Nobody bought any as no attempt was made to sell her range.

Tour was great, the tour guide was very knowledgable and spoke clearly and explained the entire process of wine making to the point that our group knew exactly how to make wine afterwards! The wine tasting was so great that we purchased a case to take back home!!

When we arrived at this lovely winery there was no English speaking tour scheduled for 4 hours however one of the girls working there just took it upon herself to bring us on a free tour with a tasting of 3 lovely wines included. It was probably the most informative tour we took in Maipu and I would recommend this... More

A free tour, in excellent English, with a samplette of 2 wines, 15% off purchases and no pressure to buy. I feel this has set us up for further wine tastings in the area and was very easy to organise. We took the red train from Mendoza to Maipu (Estacion Gutierrez) and used the free hire bikes (available for 2... More

We arrived in Mendoza late morning and set out from the hotel to find a luncheon destination. About 20 minutes out of Mendoza by train (a 3 peso ride) you will find Bodegas Lopez founded in 1898. It is a large mass production facility, but it does have a very nicely appointed restauarant on a second storey which has spectacular... More
