Sam is a wonderful guide. He's patient and informative. Growing up in this area, he really knows the wind, the terrain, the history, the politics and the economy. We had a small group and he was pleasant and guided us along the way. Our group was inexperienced and even though the wind picked up in the afternoon creating rough waters... More

The kayaking tour with Sam was extraordinary. He picked us up at our hotel in Queenstown and drove us to a little beach where we took off with the kayaks on Lake Wakatipu. We went to a beatiful secluded island in the middle of the lake, Pigeon Island, for a picnic and a swim, then kayaked around the island. As... More

Sam is great. What a friendly and knowledgable bloke! So pleased we chose him as we got the personal touch. Not only was I confident with him looking after us, I was impressed with his 'yarns' and knowledge. Glenorchy is where he's from and he's passionate about the area. Top guide!!! Recommend him to anyone. More

He is wonderfully knowledgeable having grown up in Glenorchy, played bit roles in LOR, rode horses, hunted, hiked, worked in the family restaurant, and having studied all the ecosystem sciences at Lincoln University in Christ Church. He provides valuable insights into the fauna and flora... More

A less strenuous way to kayak as the lake is alot less hard work than the sea. You can take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy kayaking and listening to a really interesting guide. Sam is interesting, funny and great company, plus he is a very good teacher and puts your mind at ease, if you are new to kayaking.... More
