I was very surprised its huge size. I could see it from far away on the highway. Outside of its dome's refurbishment has been mostly completed. So that its beautiful aqua color design can be seen. However, its inside has been still refurbishing. At that time, to take a look of its outside may be enough.

You need to get inside of it to realize how large this building is. It's one of the and gigantic monuments remained in Iran in such a good quality from 14th century, Ilkhanid dynasty. Make sure you spend enough time to look at the inscriptions, brickworks and plaster works. They are such unique examples of the arts and architecture of... More

This impressive mausoleum is worth visiting. Build by the mongols, it rises majestic as one approaches the city. Fortunately the interior is being renovated so the interior is full of scaffolds. Still you can wonder around and climb to the dome to figure what a splendid building it is.

Dont go . The scaffolding 50 years since installed is still there! You see more metal than decoration and architecture. It is a pity because otherwise could be an impressive site.

The Soltanieh Dome is a place on the must-see list of everyone visiting Zanjan. Its blue dome it's the third brick dome in the world after Brunelleschi's Cupola in Florence and Hagya Sofia in Istanbul. Unfortunately the restoration works inside the building hide the magnificence of the interior.

The first sight of the complex, rising from the plain, does indeed inspire awe. The tomb is one of the highest I have seen, and the dome is huge. - 53m high and 25m diameter. It is difficult to see the decorative inside of the tomb, as it is full of scaffolding, but the glimpses you get indicate great beauty.... More
