We took a tour from Tenerife to La Gomera Island and were treated to a very informative day and once up in amongst the giant Erica's (heathers) and ancient laurel trees it seemed to be a different world, we then went for lunch which was a bit bland but the demonstration of the whistling language was impressive and very encouraging... We could appreciate the attractions of Laguna Grande for the circular walks and the picnic area and as a break from driving on the endlessly winding roads, however when we arrived the already busy car park had just received up to 20 or so Landrovers on an island safari disgorging another 80 or some people. And this was a Monday... More

This picnic spot was a convenient break from driving on very winding roads which always seem to have a sheer drop on one side or the other! There were basic facilities, loos, coffee shop etc. and it was the starting point for a couple of walks. We followed the shorter one of around 5k. Parking was free and, if you... More

Excellent walking and good advice from Rangers. Dont miss local food - tapas local specialities from the snacks menu will make a delicious meal at modest prices. Our second walk and lunch!

Fantastic to find a great play area (or two even) high in the mountains, cafe and toilets too (long queues if a coach party arrives ) take warm clothes.

The little cafe coped well with the constant stream of tourists. The biscuits were delicious! To get there from the coach involved a first-hand experience of horizontal rain!

Almost half way between San Sebastian and Valle Gran Rey, this small clearing in the laurisilva forest with its cafe, toilet block and visitor centre make an ideal place to stop and spend a while. Many trails leave from here in different directions making for a great variety of different walks. There is ample free parking for cars, or easy... More

A good place to start your walks in the national park. In the information centre, they inform you very well. The bar and toilets are nice and clean, so a good place for a stop...

Just returned from a tour of La Gomera, whilst holidaying on Thomson Majesty, The island is an amazing well kept secret of the Canaries, such diverse and dramatic scenery. Parts of the island could be mistaken for the Caribean if it was'nt for the volcanic sand and other areas resemble the med. Lovely friendly people, an ideal place to go... More

The scenery around this part of the island of Gomera is very dramatic and spectacular. Wrap up warm as it is very cold up there at around 4000ft.
