Owner description: A magnificent Grade 1 Listed 17th Century Jacobean Mansion brought back to its former glory. The recent restoration has enabled us a fascinating chance to truly step back in time.Built in 1610, this stunning house has over 400 years of history; deaths, dirty deeds, suicides, it has seen the lot! It is a former court house for the "Hanging Judge Jeffreys" and it is said some of his victims still haunt the house! The house is open for tours on a Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday at 2pm & 3pm. It is said to be the most haunted house in Wales so for those who dare, come and join the Paranormal team on a Saturday night on a hunt for the spirits that inhabit the house!

We had a lovely visit here. I would agree with the other reviews: make sure you bring a jumper even on a warm day and ring up to check that the tour is in fact on! The tour was very interesting and the owner (who gave the tour) obviously had a passion for the house. While the house is not... More

Visited today after years of curiosity as its a local landmark. 1st impressions being its not very clean inside which leaves a lasting impression throughout the tour. The guide was a pleasant young chap with good knowledge. The owner passed through occassionally with no input just interruption. Take a jumper or coat as despite it being a warm day inside... More

Tours were advertised for 2pm and 3pm. We arrived just after 3pm to find about 12 others waiting for the 3pm tour. The owner emerged from the locked front door at 3.20 pm to announce that she was too tired after hosting a paranormal evening the previous day to conduct the 3pm tour and please would we return next weekend.... This first time I visited Plas Teg was on a paranormal night back in August 2009. As soon as we entered the great hall it was such a lovely sight with the great fire and the fire lit! The night started around 9pm and we had a lit tour around first. The the tour guide was very friendly and polite,... More

Visited her with friends on one of their daily tours not a paranormal evening. We were lucky enough to be shown round by the owner, Cornelia Bayley and therefore she knew who the painting were by and of whom and we had a potted history of the refurbishment of the house and the state of It when bought. We saw... More

Visited plas Teg 27.10.2012 with my daughter - had no idea what to expect but we both went with open minds. First thing that struck us was the amazing jacobean staircase - this alone is worth a trip. Yes, the evening started a little chaotic but this only seemed to add to the atmostphere. With lights out and full of... More
