I absolutely loved the castle. It is still owned and opperated by the family. I loved the tour of the castle it has a rich history that I found very intriquing. Our tour guide was very fun and energetic, and he really knew what he was talking about. I wasn't so thrilled about wearing slippers over my shoes, but it... More

We were traveling through Germany and in the Stuttgart area. We decided to drive to the castle for the views since we had read online that Neuschwanstein was undergoing renovation and didn't want to drive all the way to Fussen without having the full Neuschwanstein experience. This castle was not as impressive as Neuschwanstein, where I had visited before. However,... More

Beautiful castle still inhabited. Gorgeous views, lovely beer garden and interesting tour of the interior. If you can, walk to the top rather than take the bus, although I forgot how high it is above sea level! We were rewarded with brilliant views and a relaxed time was spent wandering through the grounds.

Beautiful location over looking the surrounding country side...standing on the battlements you can imagine what it must have been like to be a medieval lord. Unfortunately the castle itself is the third built on the spot, a restoration from the late 19th century. Still impressive, but not very old, if that is what you are looking for, and built for... Great trek to the castle and there are beautiful walks around it and... More

A fairytale castle near Stuttgart. My favorite of all the sights we saw in southern Germany! It's one spectacular view after another from the approach in the valley to the turret tops. We took the shuttle from the car park as the road up is long and quite steep. There is a tour of the living quarters that includes a... More

This was a neat castle to visit....specatcular views from the castle.....a bit touristy and I thought the 10 euro admission was by far the most we spent at any attraction on this trip. No photos permitted inside....and the cost gets you through about 10 sparsely furnished rooms.....interesting but not bad, some intersting history of the family there.

Nice castle to visit, with interesting history and it offers tours in different languages. Long walk up the hill to the castle, but for a small fee one can take a shuttle bus from the parking area up to the entrance of the castle.

the car park is not close to teh castle, so one needs to park and walk. A tough walk up many, many steps but it is worth it. The views are amazing at the top.
