The climb to the top is very steep and you also have to take your shoes off prior to the climb. The view was fantastic from the top as you can go outside and look all around the top of the lighthouse. The area is beautiful and not too far from a shrine so it is a good destination point.

If you go to the lzumo Taisha shrine, I recommend with confidence visiting here. The lighthouse 'Hinomisaki toudai' is very famous for the highest lighthouse in Japan. It takes about 45 minutes by car or 60 minutes by bus from Izumoshi station. We can have a beautiful seaside view around here.

First of all, I'm a huge fan of water. I've lived at the beach many a summer, so I naturally gravitate toward the ocean. The lighthouse at Hinomisaki, I believe, is the tallest in all of Japan.
