We spent several hours at Okinawa World with our 4 year-old daughter on a very hot and humid day and still had an enjoyable visit. There is plenty of shade and opportunities to buy cold drinks and ice cream. The gift shops are air conditioned, of course. Tip #1 Visit the cave first! We left the cave for later thinking... More

First of all, if you are renting a car with OTS, remember to get the discounted tickets with them! Now, with the easy part out of the way, I had a mixed experience for my visit to Okinawa World. The Gyokusendo Cave is the main highlight for me, as I do enjoy geology. The inside of the cave is very... More

The cave was beautiful! This is my first cave of such that has water streaming along and forming beautiful mini "lakes". Other than the cave, the Habu museum was very informative and interesting. We tried to watch the dance but was blocked by inconsiderate tourists as it was crowded. We left early. The Habu curry looked really interesting but the... More

Good parts: cave and dance/drum show Bad parts: treatment of snakes was shocking (not just the show, but taping their mouths shut for tourists to pose with them and the absence of habitats in the cages). Also, the walk back from the cave exit is all shops and restaurants, which was annoying and tiresome.

I visited for the caves. My opinion: the caves are definitely worth the trip. One walks on walkways, mostly. Seemed safe to me, as I recall. Not the greatest caves ever, but enjoyable. I liked the local dance and drum show. The show is at various times during the day. Check the times before you walk inside, so you are... More

Okinawa world is a mini-cultural theme park based around the 300,000 year old caves, of which 1 kilometer or so is open to the public. The cave was very atmospheric with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites although I would recommend going on off peak times/days as it is far more fun when there isn't a large army of fellow tourists surrounding... Some of our students at an International School in Japan were very upset by cruelty to a snake at Okinawa World during a recent field trip. Here is how one student described it: "Here's what I saw on our JUMP trip to Okinawa World during the snake show: The act began with the woman talking about the anatomy of the... More

My grandsons couldn't wait to take me to Okinawa World. They love the cave, the dancers and the Habu, the snakes. There is a fabulous snake charming show, gardens with tropical trees and orchids, fuchsias, hibiscus and more. Shopping galore, everything from dried fruits to the beautiful sugar cane dyed green garments and linens. You can take glass blowing, pottery... More

I had the good fortune to check out Okinawa World during a visit with my son and his family in Okinawa.. This was one of their Bucket List items to do before being transferred back to the USA. Walking from the parking lot toward the ticket office, one is transported to a faraway land hundreds of years ago. Re those... More

It is alot of walking so wear very good walking shoes and bring along water. Journey to-and-from Okinawa world is very easy. Just get to Asahibashi station (Yui line) and cross the street to Naha Bus Terminal and take bus 83 to the terminal station. Very easy to get there and same for the return trip. The Eisa Dance and...
