We stayed at Tsukahara and drive down on Sunday morning . Parked at Lake Kinrin park-whole-day for only 400yen . Lucky to chanced upon this car park, usual parking fee is 200yen per hour around this area. We spent almost whole day there , left only at 4pm. Parking attendant speaks English and gave us a map . He said... More

Ok, it is touristy but it is admittedly a lovely quaint street! It brings excitement to the spa town. There is the cheesecake ice-cream (soooo good!) and the grilled wagyu beef yakitori. There are so many snacks along the way to entice you..... This beats going to a mall ......anytime!

This is an old lane lined with souvenir shops on both sides, selling all sorts of knick knacks and Japanese sweets. Ice cream (soft cream) seems to be popular with many shops selling this. Yufuin is also famous for its cake roll (very much like a swiss roll), and there is a shop right at the beginning of the street... More

Yunotsubo Kaido is the shopping street in Yufuin and it is located about 10 minutes from Yufuin JR Station. The street is full of charming little shops and you can wander around the street for a day if you love shopping. There are restaurants, cafes and honey specialty shops and are good spots for people watching. There are more shops... More
