a park in downtown Kagoshim where you can visit Saigo Takamori’s cave and statue and an observatory overlooking Kagoshima city and Sakurajima.

Shiroyama park in extends over Mount Shiroyama and was formerly the site of a castle fortification, which led to its name. Shiroyama means "castle mountain" in Japanese.
