This place is in the middle of a village at the top of the hill so even if you get bored of visiting temples in Japan, the houses builts on slopes offers a nice view. I find this temple is being underrated and don't see it being mentioned in tour guide books. Definitely a place to stop by if you... More

This temple is buddhist temple. This temple stands on a mountain,very beautiful. Many people go to this temple to play. Principal image is Fudo-myoo,and many jizos. Visitor can get a beautiful view on the mountain. try it!

Hozanji is free & open 24 hrs (altho ltd access in early am and late pm). Interesting combo of Shinto, Hindu, & Buddhist with reported hidden treasure of two Ghanesh in carnal embrace.
