I think the place is great, entrance fee is fine for what is on offer. Good selection of animals etc. I mostly have an issue with them charging 50p for cashback on the card. The cafe in the soft play only accepts cash, and the cash machine was missing from the lobby, with a sign up saying cash back available... More

Thank you for your comments. We’re sorry that are upset you paid a 50p charge to get cashback when you visited. Our cash machine (which used to charge £1.20 per transaction) is currently unusable due to vandalism so we have set up our tills so that cash back can be given. If something is being purchased at the till there... More

This attraction is little more than a Craft 'shopping centre' The farm is WAY overpriced and far smaller than other Farm based attractions. The narrow gauge train ride was the only 'value for money' attraction and even that only lasted 5 mins. Sorely disssppointed.

We’re really surprised to read your review. At Barleylands we are so much more than Craft shopping centre. We are very proud of our Craft Village with its individual studios which is free to enter, but our Farm Park has a great deal to offer visitors including farmyard friends, indoor play, outdoor adventures, a huge new reptile house and birds... Great place! Lots to do! My 10&11 year old throughly enjoyed themselves! Not many animals but enough combined with the play areas, tractor and train ride to make a day of it! Will definitely be returning as we got annual passes! But even without them I would go again! X

We’re so pleased to hear your children enjoyed themselves and thank you very much for the recommendation. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! We have lots of animals, reptiles and birds of prey so we’re a little surprised you didn’t think there were many (animal wise we have pigs, sheep, goats, alpacas, cows, highland cows, chickens, pheasants, ducks,... Nothing much wrong with this farm animal petting zoo, but I question if it's worth £11.50 per adult. Hadleigh Farm rare breeds centre is much cheaper and has most of what these guys have.

Thank you for visiting us and leaving a review. We feel a comparison with Hadleigh Farm is unfair as in addition to all our farmyard friends we have far more to do including a huge Reptile House with interactive reptile sessions, Birds of Prey and flying shows, a Discovery Barn for a look back at the history of farming, an... The words above were from our four year old granddaughter to her mum after our first visit to Barleylands. There is plenty to do there from looking at or joining in the crafts at the craft area (which is outside the main park and FREE to enter). As we walked through the gates our granddaughter was invited to join a... More

We’re so pleased to hear that you and your granddaughter had a great day. We’re really sorry that you were a bit disappointed with the bird of prey display. We’re often told that the displays are a visit highlight and they usually last around 20 minutes concentrating on a couple of the birds (which usually change for each show) so... More

Very overpriced, shops all expensive, took kiddies to the pottery shop where you can paint a piece, not Exactley child friendly, will definitely not be going back. Clay cottage in Rayleigh much friendlier and child friendly supplying drinks etc FOC.

We’re really surprised to read your review. Hazle’s Pottery Barn is a very popular studio in our Craft Village and we usually hear very good things from visitors. We will pass your comments onto them directly. We have 60 studios in the Craft Village many of which specialise in bespoke items. Without knowing which shops you visited we can’t really... More

There's plenty to do. Lots of lovely craft shops to browse round. The farm is excellent for toddlers with petting zoo, sand pit, soft play area. All the animals looked very well cared for.
