Good place for a visit if your in the area. The zipline at the end made it all worth while. Nice long ride.

Thanks for your recommendation – it truly is an exhilarating ride! The new Thunderbird Twin Zipline is Canada’s longest twin zip ride. After a practice demonstration, you climb up the 50 ft. tower of the Thunderbird ‘nest’ where the views of south Georgian Bay are breathtaking. Next, you soar a half-mile over the escarpment, side-by-side with your friend. What’s cool... More

Each winter that we are in Collingwood we enjoy making tracks at the Scenic Caves Nordic Center, located a short distance from the top of the new Orchard chair at Blue. We agree that rentals have become pricey but once we set out on the trails we lose touch with such mundane criticisms. Great for the whole family as well... More

Delighted to hear that you blaze a cross-country trail each year to the Scenic Caves Nordic Centre. To clarify, Scenic Caves is indeed located at the top of the mountain, but is a separate property from Blue Mountain Resort. It is accessible by car, by travelling up Scenic Caves Road. Situated at the highest point of the Niagara Escarpment, the... More

This was our second cross country skiing trip but first with lessons for my husband. I can only say the staff - especially Marianne, his trainer - went above and beyond. She was so enthusiastic and helpful and took the extra time to figure out issues with his gear. We had heard from friends in Waterloo that she was great... More

Thank you for the accolades regarding our Nordic Centre and our fantastic staff. We are very fortunate to have several exceptionally qualified cross-country ski trainers on our team who offer lessons to children and adults. In addition to being a certified ski coach, Marianne teaches at the University level and has written numerous articles and books on “playfulness, leisure and... More

We visited that place in the winter for cross country skiing. The trails were groomed and signage was adequate. It would be nice if people coming with their own equipment will be charged less money to use the trails

Thank you for complementing our grooming team. Every morning beginning at 6am, the staff members are out for about 3-4 hours, preparing the trails for both classic and skate skiers. Because we are situated at the top of the escarpment, the Nordic Centre offers excellent high altitude snow conditions. There are different prices for day trail passes. One price is... More

We did the guided tour New Years Eve. They offer this tour on evenings (need to check the schedule). The tour guides were quite informative and we did go over the bridge and they did give us quite a good story on the history of the area. If money is an issue then just do the snow shoe on your... We rented snow shoes and headed out in the clean crisp powder on one of many trails clearly marked. Our first delight was crossing over the suspension bridge, what a view of Blue Mountain Village, Georgian Bay and Collingwood. We continued up hill which is a great work-out for seniors to the look-out point, fabulous view, the snow on the... More

We are similarly delighted that your winter experience at our Nordic Centre was so enjoyable. There is no other place in Ontario where you can cross a suspension bridge on snowshoes, or revel in the spectacular 10,000 sq. km. views of Georgian Bay from the top of the Niagara Escarpment. Old man winter has brought us lots of snow, transforming... More

Now that I have been here I know the true meaning of tourist trap. A place of not much great appeal that is dressed up as being something worthwhile and sold at an overpriced cost. I'd pay $5 to come here and see the cave-ish rocks and walk the suspension bridge to nowhere but not the over $20 it takes... More

A place worth visiting with your family. A map provides with interesting information about the caves and a bridge offers a great view. Make sure you wear comfortable footwear and ready to be out for a few hours. Don't get off a path as some places have poison Ivy. they also may close some areas after rain, so better call... More

We appreciate you recommending Scenic Caves to families and thank you for your ‘poison ivy’ alert. Set in one of Canada’s six UNESCO designated biosphere reserves, poison ivy is a wild plant commonly found throughout the region. Many people may not be familiar with this poisonous plant, which causes a nasty allergic rash. It is easily transferred and can remain... More

This is a great place to take the kids for a walk and introduce them to nature. Our kids had allot of fun exploring the caves and crevices (look out for 'Fat Man's Misery') as well as taking pictures. You do need to be in fairly good shape because the climbs can be steep. I wouldn't recommend Scenic Caves to... More
