My boyfriend and I drove an hour and a half strictly to see the scenic caves. I had read the reviews before hand and the caves were on a blog post for "Top 5 road trips you have to take from Toronto this summer" so I had high hopes but was sorely disappointed. The name is extremely misleading in my... More

Went to the Scenic Caves on a family day trip. It was well worth the 3 1/2 hour drive to get there. The rock formations and the lush greenery were gorgeous, as were the views from atop the Blue Mountain.

Thank you for day tripping to Scenic Caves. The caves, caverns and crevasses have been formed over a period of a million years through weathering and erosive forces such as running water, frost, ice and wind. Part of the Niagara Escarpment, Scenic Caves is a designated UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Heritage Biosphere Reserve. Our mandate... More

I went there with my family, we spent like three hours there, the suspension bridge was disappointment, since it lead to no where, so you simply cross it, then come back, views are amazing though. The caves are more interesting, specially the last ones, the kids had a blast and the place is well preserved with minimal interference to make... More

Thank you for day tripping to Scenic Caves with your family for fun and adventure. It’s unfortunate you crossed the Suspension Bridge over and back, because you missed Creekside Trail. Once you’ve crossed over, the well-marked trail begins past the garden on the right and leads you down a beautiful nature trail through the valley (under the bridge) and loops... More

It was a girls mini vacation and we headed to the Scenic Caves for the eco Adventure.. What a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Greeted warmly at checking in, orientation process was quick and informatiive. Our guides James and jaz, were friendly, very helpful. I have a fear of heights in open spaces, jaz was more than accomodating, told... More

Dear Shalea: Thank you for making Scenic Caves your ‘girlfriend getaway’. We also appreciate you sharing your apprehension of heights. Fear of falling is a natural sensation if you’re not sure of your footing. As you experienced, the treetop canopy walk is very safe – you are clipped on at all times. The guides are terrific at easing any feelings... More

Had a great day at Scenic Caves! Our guides, Ryan and Rebecca, were super great. Very knowledgeable and high energy. The caverns were so incredible in the misty weather. The zipline was fun and the tree top walk offered some great views of the forest. Everything felt really safe. Highly recommended!

A must for anyone looking to see/try something different, price is not cheap but if you have the time and $$ the this is a must for the area.

Mark: Thank you for visiting Scenic Caves last summer and for your five star review. Scenic Caves is a privately owned and operated business, employing approximately 80 seasonal staff and contributing significantly to the local economy through purchase of goods and services. Haven't been since I was a kid, but I really enjoyed my most recent visit. I almost got stuck in Fat Man's Misery, but managed to squeeze myself through. Quite the fun affair. The zip line was fun and exhilarating. All in all, a really fun morning trip!

Oh dear! So glad you didn’t get stuck! The famous “Fat Man’s Misery” is certainly a tight one – a mere 14 inches at the narrowest spot. There is a light on inside the cave/crevasse, which helps guide visitors through. If guests prefer not to undertake the challenge, they can walk around it and meet their mates at the other... More

Ok, it's not cheap but really, nothing is anymore. You can get $4 off print coupons on the internet and for a family of 4 that is a decent savings. We were two adults and two kids (16 and 12) who were staying at Blue Mountain. We took a little side trip to the scenic caves one afternoon and felt... More

What a terrific four star recommendation coming from a mom with a teenager and pre-teen! We’re pleased that you felt the experience was worth the admission. As a privately-owned tourism attraction, the ticket price allows us to staff and maintain this natural gem, as well as developing new adventures such as ziplining and treetop canopy walking. The cold cave is... More

We planned a family trip here and enjoyed it! Beautiful area! I really went outside of my box by going into a few of the caves and thoroughly enjoyed it! The suspension bridge is neat and has beautiful views of Georgian Bay! There is alot of walking/climbing so I would not recommend for people with mobility issues. We were annoyed... More

Thanks Carrie for recommending Scenic Caves as a great day trip destination. The property is within a 2 hour driving distance of most of Southern Ontario. As you discovered, the caves are not deep dark creepy places where you have to crawl through wearing hardhats. The natural trails lead you through a combination of caves/caverns and crevasses. And you can... More
