It was a little windy but it was not a problem. I was still able to get a tan. Went firstly in the end of June and it was not difficult to find a spot. In august (as in every other portuguese southern beach) is a little full so one must arrive soon.

We loved the lively family atmosphere at the beach, everyone playing, relaxing, etc. And the sea and the waves change every single second. This beach is the reason to revisit the West Algarve again, again and again

Stunning beach, separated into two areas by a sandBank, on one side beach facing picturesque wild atlantic and on the other beautiful, clean, family friendly, sandy beach besides the clean and safe river. One of the most beautiful spots in Portugal

Really nice beach with a very nice restaurant close to this beach. On one side the ocean, on the other the river. Recommended!

Beautiful beach with sea caves and a gentle river. We sat up at the café and watched the kids play below. This place is very special. The Rota Vicentina trail also connects this beach with Zambujeira Do Mar. It is a stunning trail with many deserted beaches along the way.

Good but popular beach. Get ready early to get parking nearby the beach. The estuary and river side is more sheltered for children. Good for swimming though very chilly. Good facilities. Good access. Toilets nearby, several restaurants / ice cream places. Life guards.

Although it's not my favorite beach from the coast it's impossible to discuss how beautiful it is. Mostly if you have kids you can simply stay at the river side to avoid the waves. Talking about waves, no stress! Apart from having a life guard, the big waves start a long after you make your feet wet :)

Really lovely drive to the beach following the river. Good parking not to far to walk. You can swim in the sea or river. Good for kids. Nice vibe here.

I visited this beach in august 2014 and highly recommend it. Odeceixe is a small picturesque village sitting at the mouth of a small river. The beach, the river, OMG!! It's great. By the way, this place reminds me of another place which I visited years ago called Ribadasella in north of spain. Also sitting at the mouth of a... More
