In the search of what Portugal had to offer beyond the crowded beaches on the Algarve we came here, oh and how glad we are that we did. If you love busy beaches with dozens of restaurants and people trying to sell you stuff - stay South. If you have a car, imagination, a desire for adventure then go!! There... More

Apologies for the corny title but this phrase was constantly in my head when I visited Praia da Amoreira, being from a seaside town in England. This beach was fantastic, clear sand, blue sea, decent waves and more! The restaurant was in the perfect location and I set off on a walk which took me right around the beach and... More

This is a piece of paradise!! You can enjoy the whole day on the beach surfing or sunbathing with the breaks for lunch or coffee in the restaurant that's locates just 200 m from you. I'm in love with this place!! But you need a car to come there.

This is a lovely beach enhanced by the lovely estuary. Great for walking and floating in the river. Yet again getting too many surfers in the season. Most surfers are shipped in by transit from the bottom of the Algarve, Lagos, Alvor etc... These surfers spend little or nothing in this beautiful area. Aljezur area is dieing and needs more... More

Praia de Amoreira is ten minutes outside of Aljezur. We have two small kids and this is probably the best place four your youngsters. Dont't drive till the end of the road, but stop 500 meters before. You will find on your left a nice sandy beach with calm water. Your kids will enjoy!

A popular beach for surfers, plenty of parking, decent restaurant behind beach. Like that it is unspoiled.

Brilliant surfing. Two surf schools on the beach. Proper waves and quite deep so not for small kids. Absolutely gorgeous. Parking near by and a lovely beach restaurant with a loo you can use.

The beach is great. It's a good size and not totally packed with people. There is a great little place to eat. When the tide is low, there is so much space to roam around and have a lot of fun. There are little tide pools to play in and explore. The receded water leaves a nice compacted sandy beach... More
