I park by the church and walk through the pine woods which is a lovely little walk to the beach. You then get to walk over the sanddunes before you get onto the beach. Not the best walk for anyone not good on their feet as very uneven ground and a few steep bits. The beach itself is very clean... More

Formby Beach is a great place to visit with family. I have been there many times with friends and family and our little dog. It is such a peaceful beach with beautiful views

Our first visit but won't be our last. The beach is a stone throw from the car park which allowed us to carry everything we needed to be comfortable including chairs cool box and bbq. Great day

What a lovely day took my mum 83 for her birthday and we walked down the beach bare foot looking at the fab statues and being a bit naughty!!! Brilliant interesting day for all ages .

Visited Formby on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Be warned, if you arrive from 12pm onwards, and the weather is nice, the car park in one in one out, so expect a wait! We had to wait about 30-45mins to get on, but others must of been waiting a great deal longer, which would be frustrating if you have kids in... More

I visited today with my family and we had high expectations having read all about Formby Beach on the National Trust web site. We found the beach to be extremely-dirty and was covered in rubbish babies dirty nappies, dog muck and empty bottles to name but a few! The water left a foam deposit all over the sand. The large... Through the pinewoods and onto the beach turn left for Waterloo and the Ironmen or right for Southport. The beach is going through a renaissance at the moment with lots of visitors taking the chance to get a bit of sun and a great day out on the sand for the kids.

Good beach with plenty of space for everyone. Good for horses, walkers, kiters etc. Only let down was the parking fees. Ridiculous amount of money to park your car and even more for a horse trailer. Good beach but I wouldn't bother if I was only making a short trip.

I love coming to Formby beach, parking isn't overly priced either. Kids enjoy themselves, and it's nice and clean. Would definitely reccomend if your in the area
