I loved this place it was so cool. I have never fed a toucan let alone held one or even touched an owl. Great for toddlers and up. Bring extra money so you can buy all the food you want to feed the birds with! There are tons of different ones and you can feed fish if you want as... More

Take your time here, don't rush. There's so many birds to interact with that you will need to take your time. All the birds are so friendly and craving human attention (and the food that you can buy so cheaply there for them). The ducks and geese are funny to watch as they try to get into one of the... Great place for families or people just interested in birds. You can get close to owls and a number of other birds in a way most other places do not allow. The restaurant is not too expensive and has an interesting variety. Great gift shop. Don't rush the visit - there is more than you initially think is there.

We always enjoy visiting this bird park. Lots of birds to feed. If you like birds, you enjoy this experience. I particularly enjoyed having a toucan land on my arm. We never knew there are so many different kinds of owls! Little bird show was entertaining too. Last time we visited, there were many penguins but this time there weren't... More

The park is not very big, but very clean and well maintained. While the variety of fowls does not match those of larger bird parks, it is a nice, cosy environment for the children to come into close contact with ducks, penguins, owls and emus. My children had heaps of fun feeding the birds, and even more fun patting the... More

In our town, and highly recommended for adults and children! Our family and school make at least one trip a year, and they don't want to go home!

This park doesn't get a lot of press in the tour books. There are a few bird parks where you can feed and interface with the birds but this is the best one in Japan. The one in Okinawa and Matsue pales in comparison. You can have two toucans, one on each arm, or a headful of sparrow birds on... More

Kachoen was an easy walk from my hotel and I enjoyed sitting in the greenhouse, seeing various birds. I did not really like that there was hardly any information in English but what can you expect. Lunch was pretty good, nice variety.
