We stayed in the Dancalan Beach Resort, so the Butanding Interaction Center was right next door. Booking is easy. Just go to the center at 7am, and you should be able to leave immediately. Costs are 300 pesos per person plus 3500 pesos for the boat rental (regardless if you are with 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 people. Boats... More

This review is long overdue. We went there in March 2015. The whale sharks are normally found in Donsol from November to June, but the peak months are from February to May, and diving conditions are really good. TIP: Stay at Vitton Beach Resort. It's a good place with big rooms. Short walking distance to Donsol Whale Shark Interaction Center... More

Did this activity. Sad to say that the tourist center did not advice us that it is unlikely to see any whale shark during this month. Boat fee is still 3500 but no whale shark only did snorkeling but not that great. So giving this just a 3 rating.

Donsol is probably one of the few places in the world that can offer an almost assured whale shark sightings during the season. In the months of November through June whale sharks converge in the Donsol bay and stay for 6 to 7 months feeding on the rich nutrients coming out of the mouth of the Donsol river. With simple... Two whale sharks in under 30 minutes! Luck was on our side because others were out at sea for hours without any sighting - some even had to make a return trip the following day to try again. Guess the butandings knew we were on tight schedule! Better to line up early - before the 7am opening of the local... More

we went there twice - first day we saw one and my gf saw 2, second day we both saw 2. i wish TA supports video sharing because you just dont get to see me chasing a shark like that. I cant imagine what it is like for someone who can see 13 sharks in one day.

I wanted to see the whale sharks. So I flew to Legaspi then caught a mini van to Dorsol. The visibility was fairly poor and there were so many boats that it felt terrible harassing the poor giants in the water. There are there pretty much all year round apparently. So you get what you ask for but the experience... More

Truly remarkable experience our guide/spotter was really professional and extremely capable allowing us to interact with 3 diffeent Whale Sharks on no fewer than 7 separate occasions! Despite it being June and outside of peak season my worries were unwarranted as we managed to swim (at extremely close quarters) with these majestic animals. For under 900 pesos plus snorkel equipment... More

I liked that the whale sharks are at their natural free state and that they are not mesmerized by people swimming around so closely at them and feeding them (compared to Oslob Cebu whale watching). Set back though is that if you are not a good swimmer and not keen on diving every few minutes after you have just rested... More
