Went to Donsol on February 2015 as a newly wed couple who looking for the WOW-some honeymoon experience. But on the 1st place, we do LOVE whale shark, and seriously hunting for any opportunity to dive or swim with this gentle giant. Here, at Donsol, it's not allowed to dive with the whale shark, because might change their natural behavior.... More

So I am afraid of the open waters .. but when i saw these beauties i fell inlove with it.. I went way back 2010 with my cousins from america for a cousin holiday trip. The sun is good and the sight was perfect plus swimming with the whale sharks tops it up.. If u want a good experience with... More

Snorkeling over the largest fish in the world was a phenomenal experience. If you have a wet suit, take it; as the area has lots of tiny stinging jellyfish. My legs were covered in small red whelps, but it was still worth it. Take your own gear, too. The rental gear is old and malfunctional.

Me and my boyfriend were very lucky to see 3 whale sharks,2 upclose and another one from the boat. The last one was abt 7-8m long and we swam along side the big butanding.. It was an amazing feeling to see how a big animal like whale shark could be so harmless and gentle. At first i was nervous but... More

Having done some research and found that Donsol doesn't bait the whalesharks like other places in the Philippines do, we decided to make the trip to Legazpi. We booked with Donsol Eco Tours and could not be happier that we did. The transfers to the Elysia Beach Resort were smooth and the Resort beautiful, friendly staff and right on the... More

I snorkeled with these massive Whale Sharks in the sleepy fishing town of Donsol. We saw two of them; they were incredible! I posted photos and wrote about the experience at http://visit50.com at the link below. I answer: are they really sharks or whales? how big are they? are they dangerous? what do they eat? where else can you whale... More

After doing some research my friends and I chose to swim with whale sharks in Donsol as opposed to other locations in the Philippines as the whale sharks are not encouraged to the area or kept in the area by humans feeding them. We did a number of swims in Donsol over a few days. Wow! What an incredible experience... More

We were. This is an unusual tourist experience and as it is a natural phenomenon, it is undependable. The briefing before hand explains the interaction rules which are ignored the minute you walk out of the room. The rules of only 6 people at a time in the water with the shark, I counted at least 30 on two of... More

From the moment we arrived at the airport, everything ran smoothly. Everything was explained clearly and we felt safe. The first day we hiked Mayon Volcano but the highlight was the Whale Sharks. Everyone was so lovely and professional, food was great and when we were out on the water it was amazing. In between the Whale Sharks and the... More
