we went there twice - first day we saw one and my gf saw 2, second day we both saw 2. i wish TA supports video sharing because you just dont get to see me chasing a shark like that. I cant imagine what it is like for someone who can see 13 sharks in one day.

I wanted to see the whale sharks. So I flew to Legaspi then caught a mini van to Dorsol. The visibility was fairly poor and there were so many boats that it felt terrible harassing the poor giants in the water. There are there pretty much all year round apparently. So you get what you ask for but the experience... More

Truly remarkable experience our guide/spotter was really professional and extremely capable allowing us to interact with 3 diffeent Whale Sharks on no fewer than 7 separate occasions! Despite it being June and outside of peak season my worries were unwarranted as we managed to swim (at extremely close quarters) with these majestic animals. For under 900 pesos plus snorkel equipment... More

I liked that the whale sharks are at their natural free state and that they are not mesmerized by people swimming around so closely at them and feeding them (compared to Oslob Cebu whale watching). Set back though is that if you are not a good swimmer and not keen on diving every few minutes after you have just rested... More

THIS. IS. A. MUST. This is definitely one thing each of us should try in our life! Go during peak months (February to May) to avoid disappointments as it is not guaranteed to encounter butandings whenever you go out to sea (even during the peak months). Listen carefully to the brief video briefing at the Interaction Center. And follow the... More

Tour - they are not guaranteed to see a whale shark whenever you go out for the tour. One tour is 3 hours. You have to first register, pay your fees, watch an orientation video and get on the boat. Snorkel and Fins - you don't need fins to get to swim with them. The guide will pull you along... More

We went out at 7.30am as the early morning slot is the best time to go. This was reflected by the number of people. We were shown a video about the do's and dont's and how to show respect to the whales. Most notably, there should be no more than 6 people in the water at a time and to... More

All of the other reviews on trip advisor do a pretty good job of explaining what the whale shark interaction is all about. It doesn't matter who you book through, everyone goes through the Donsol Tourist Centre and boats cost PHP3,500 each (up to 6 people) plus a PHP300 booking fee per person. If you don't have a group of... More

This was the first stop on a 4 centre trip in the Philippines for us and acted as a great introduction for things to come. Whilst not our first time seeing Whale Sharks we had 2 americans with us who it was there first time and with our and their enthusiasm made for a great couple of hours. The set... More
