A Very nice landscape -- more aptly expressed as a misunderstood habitat Grassland - thorny scrubs one of the very few last remaining homes of GIB - very difficult to see GIB - but can learn more about them at the forest interpretation center..... Very good for seeing other ground dwelling birds like sand grouses and Indian courser

After reading all the reviews and no other work to do, i decided to give a visit to this sanctuary. I decided to reach early, but eventually i ended up reaching around 1 pm in the afternoon. When i reached there, i found the gate was locked and there was no one for enquiry. Eventually a passerby advised i can... More

If you are lucky then you will find the animals right when you are in jeep. Make sure you carry suncreen or water with you as its quite hot in day time. Thick forest and great place of photography for forest lovers.

The sanctuary is 22 Kms from Solapur. The last few Kms road is pretty bad....not maintained for years. Entrance fee for Two persons + car was Rs.160. You need immense luck and patience to sight the Great Indian Bustard ( Maldhok in Hindi). We spent a few hours in the morning and again between 4:00 PM and 6:30PM in the... More

Vehicles are not permitted inside. We went searching fir Blackbuk and GIB. We spotted Blackbuk but could not find GIB as they usually roam in the inner areas of the sanctuary. Watch tower stands good. Overall a visit is enough.

You have to leave your vehicle outside the entry gate and walk inside. The watchtower to the left of the entrance offers a bird's eye view of the sanctuary. A narrow path leads from the gate to the viewing hut. The narrow slits cut into the wall on three sides offer a low view of the forest. There are benches... More
