Good value for a great day out with (or without) the kids. I went with my son and 2 grand children and had a fantastic day. Enjoy the days of a bygone era and what a lovely surprise at the end of your journey

I'm lucky - the Launceston Steam Railway is close to home, and I go there a few times a year. The welcome from the staff is fabulous, the prices fair (and with a very good offer that allows you to buy tickets for a repeat visit at half price), and it's a beautiful run down the Kensey Valley on the... This is one of those lines, where once you've paid for your ticket, you can ride back and forth all day if you want. The line runs along the route of the old Southern Railway, through a bit of rural Cornwall. The scenery is not spectacular, just our normal green countryside. Found the staff to be very friendly and helpful,... More

Fascinating little railway especially as you are encouraged to explore the trains and the sidings. Reasonably priced ticket is for all day so you could have lunch or tea at the cafe which is again very reasonably priced and good food. Definately worth a visit.

I have been on this railway many times.it runs for 2.5 miles to new mills. Then returns.you can use your tickets all day if you want. The park at New Mills is not part of the LSR. but is great for children. LSR has been trying to get this line extended for a long time now.but let's hope this will... More

We got to Launceston just before the gates opened hoping to make a morning of it, we bought our very old fashioned tickets from a lovely very helpful member of staff in the shop and waited to board the first train. I would fully advise if you want to get the most out of the experience arriving early, as we... More
