Had a fabulous day at the steam railway, not only could you pay once and ride all day you can also visit the Museum of old pieces, Cars, Farm machinery, Engines, interesting to all ages, at one end of the ride you can dismount and go to a Large play area which I believe had animals and a farm shop,... A very well run railway and good food to be had in the station restaurant. Well worth a look in the attached museum. There's nothing like the smell of a real steam train!

Me and Em visited here as I had seen it in an attraction leaflet and I'm interested in locomotives. It's a narrow gauge line, about 2.5 miles long end to end. The whole line and 3 locomotives are owned by a husband and wife who run them along side volunteers. The oldest locomotive is 132yrs old! It's a nice ride... More

Very interesting little railway that would appeal to both steam enthusiasts and followers of "Thomas and friends." It follows a river course for a short while down to an activity farm and there is a free walk on the opposite side through the woods. The ticket is valid for the whole day and also gives a discount on a cream... More

If you are looking for a 15 minute steam train ride then this is for you. However, if you are looking for a steam train ride with something to see at the other end like us you will be disappointed. It is dog friendly and the station at the beginning is delightful. At the other end there is a children's... More

Good trip for a toddler who loves trains. Journey is fairly short and not as scenic as it you might want. However, the farm at New Mills is a good stop for kids and the staff are friendly and helpful

Although obviously better for grandads and train obsessed grandsons(us) the ladies had a pleasant time pottering. Everyone was very friendly. It,s not a long ride but in a lovely true Cornish environment from a real Cornish town (don,t miss the castle views). If you want an Alton towers experience dont bother---this runs at a west-country pace ,thank goodness.

Lovely little train through very pretty countryside. Plenty of wild life to spot. Wish it was a bit longer trip.
