We do love our steam railways, so this was another good one to add to our list. It is in a pretty setting and the staff are very friendly. The train ride is very short but chuffs along through lovely countryside and the added extra at the end of the line is Newmills, a park with all sorts of activities... More

i think this attraction is overpriced for what it is and how long the journey actually cost (about 15-20 each way) to the new mills farm and back. However i do like that you can visit their shop, museum and cafe for free. We had a few things from the cafe before we went on the train that were cheap.... More

We just missed the 2pm train when we arrived so used the cafe and shop facilities which are all very quaint. The scones in the cafe though aren't the best (microwaved). The train ride is a short 10 minutes but lots of fun for train enthusiasts and kids through lovely countryside. At Newmills we paid to go into the farm... More

A return trip following an absence of more than 20 years confirmed that this rural railway is as delightful as ever. Lovingly restored steam locomotives and comfortable carriages take you along the river valley to Newmills at a pace that enables you to take it all in. Before or after the trip the Railway Buffet offers a range of good... More

Visited with 2yr old and 7 month old. Lovely day. Not too long for them to get bored (20 minutes) lovely little animal and play place at the end of the trip well worth a visit. A good day out.

Whilst my Sister & Brother-in-law had visited this delightful little steam railway on several occasions, we made arrangements to meet up with them on the Station, taking my little Granddaughter along too...her first experience with a 'puffa-Billy'...at only 2 years old, she was delighted with the whole experience...her face was a picture! It was mine and my Daughter's first experience... More

Yesterday my wife and I dropped by to take a look at Launceston station while on our way home from collecting an ebay purchase. We expected to spend 30 minutes there and ended up leaving an hour and a half later! The place is amazing - a complicated multi-level narrow-guage terminus that looks like it has always been there (but... More

By chance we called into Launceston and discovered a cute little railway with very friendly staff. We rode behind a tiny steam loco through some lovely green scenery at a nice relaxed pace. Whilst the ride was not long it was most enjoyable hearing a little loco working happily in the front. After the ride the driver, Jonathon, willingly showed... More

Sunday morning with a special offer ticket by buying the local paper. Excellent value. The ride was perfect, we sat in the open sided toast rack carriage and enjoyed the magnificent scenery.
