Made my day visiting the fabulous railway owned by Karen and Nigel. Unique because they have a collection of Quarry Hunslets, one which was restored by Karen herself. I rode on the footplate and was given a tour of the workshops and sheds. Very friendly place to visit. Great café serving quality food. Altogether a place not to be missed

Years since I visited here... and its got better and better. .... A lovely place to visit for all ages.... and the all day travel with the ticket fee is an added bonus. The souvenir shop and the tea rooms has loads of choice.

Good value for a great day out with (or without) the kids. I went with my son and 2 grand children and had a fantastic day. Enjoy the days of a bygone era and what a lovely surprise at the end of your journey

I'm lucky - the Launceston Steam Railway is close to home, and I go there a few times a year. The welcome from the staff is fabulous, the prices fair (and with a very good offer that allows you to buy tickets for a repeat visit at half price), and it's a beautiful run down the Kensey Valley on the... This is one of those lines, where once you've paid for your ticket, you can ride back and forth all day if you want. The line runs along the route of the old Southern Railway, through a bit of rural Cornwall. The scenery is not spectacular, just our normal green countryside. Found the staff to be very friendly and helpful,... More

Fascinating little railway especially as you are encouraged to explore the trains and the sidings. Reasonably priced ticket is for all day so you could have lunch or tea at the cafe which is again very reasonably priced and good food. Definately worth a visit.
