Deliciously mad and quirky and great fun. Lovely mad steam engines and friendly staff

Tucked out the way in Launceston, but well worth the effort to find, this is a delightful narrow gauge steam railway which is well worth a visit. The carriages are fun and the ride gives good views. The tea room is also good.

Went on the railway as I love mad Welsh narrow gauge railways. These locos started life in Welsh quarries but were made in England. There are museums and old cars and all sorts of things like motor bikes and engines dotted about for extra fun. The train starts at Launceston and ends at the New Mills Farm Park which is... More

This is a little gem and well worth a visit. You are made welcome from the moment you arrive. This is a family run business so they look after their customers well. If you are lucky you will even get the chance to ride on the footplate. When it is refreshment time show your train ticket in the café and... More

This railway is a little gem. The staff are friendly and the buildings are well maintained. It has a well stocked gift shop and second hand bookshop. The outbuildings have interesting old cars, motorbikes and traction engines in. If the staff have tume they will even show you around the engine sheds. The cafe was clean, offered a nice range... Our 2 and 4 year old girls loved it! They were even allowed to hold the green and red flags! A bit pricey but worth it as was a lovely ride.

Another great steam rail journey that takes you through some great Cornish countryside as well as taking you back in time.

Good narrow gauge railway, not far in distance but pleasant and relaxing. Decided to ride it twice on the rover ticket. Had a snack in the café, bit pricey for a cup of tea but nice picnic tables on the station.

Parked for free in the industrial estate (sat nav PL15 8EX) and walked a short way to the station. The little trains run to New Mills once an hour. There are open and covered carriages depending on the weather. It cost us £8.00 each plus 50p for the dog which seems very good until you realise that you are only... More

Had an enjoyable ride on the train to New Mills, this is a great place for the kids with animals and assorted rides, charged extra. Then a return journey and a visit to the small transport museum, wonderful. There is a cafe and toilets at this Station.

Had an enjoyable day riding up and down the Kensey Valley from Launceston to New Mills. You can tell that this railway is run by dedicated enthusiasts, who made us all feel welcome.
