Back in the old days

Nice to visit with young children to let them see how it was in the old days. There is also a museum to look around and a gift shop that the children realy like.

Would really recommend this as a day out. We even had a voucher from a tourism brochure for a free child place. You could ride on the train as many times as you liked. All staff really friendly and spent time talking and explaining things to children. Nice picnic area to watch the trains, and interesting museum. Would go back... More

We had no idea what to expect, just followed the signs - wow! we were amazed! Once past the very grumpy lady selling the tickets in the shop...the lady in the buffet was so friendly, telling us we could take our coffee on the train and that it would not go yet...once on, we saw why - she was the... Excellent day out. You can ride the train, with the dog as well, all day on one ticket. It's a pretty ride through the countryside. The cafe is good value and the food was very tasty. Very friendly and interesting place.

Tucked out the way in Launceston, but well worth the effort to find, this is a delightful narrow gauge steam railway which is well worth a visit. The carriages are fun and the ride gives good views. The tea room is also good.

Went on the railway as I love mad Welsh narrow gauge railways. These locos started life in Welsh quarries but were made in England. There are museums and old cars and all sorts of things like motor bikes and engines dotted about for extra fun. The train starts at Launceston and ends at the New Mills Farm Park which is... More

This is a little gem and well worth a visit. You are made welcome from the moment you arrive. This is a family run business so they look after their customers well. If you are lucky you will even get the chance to ride on the footplate. When it is refreshment time show your train ticket in the café and... More

This railway is a little gem. The staff are friendly and the buildings are well maintained. It has a well stocked gift shop and second hand bookshop. The outbuildings have interesting old cars, motorbikes and traction engines in. If the staff have tume they will even show you around the engine sheds. The cafe was clean, offered a nice range... Our 2 and 4 year old girls loved it! They were even allowed to hold the green and red flags! A bit pricey but worth it as was a lovely ride.

Another great steam rail journey that takes you through some great Cornish countryside as well as taking you back in time.
