We've been in woods with bluebells before, but never seen anything like the amount of forest floor completely covered by them. The walking/cycling trails are wide and give good access into the forest, and with morning light slanting through the beech trees the overall effect was magical.

My husband & I were speechless by the time we entered the forest and saw those Bluebells flowers... We visited this place three days in a row and very lucky to have such a variant weather, first day it was sunny but cold (4'C), second day still cold but adding mist & fog which very good for photograph and last... April-May is the time when the bluebells carpet this forest park, just a few minutes' drive out of Brussels. There were hundreds of people there to take in the spectacle. But go there any other time, and you'll have the myriad trails mostly to yourself. One of our favorite places for a walk.

If you are in Belgium in April-May, this place is not to be missed. Flowering occurs in April last and May, and this place can be clubbed up with Waterloo war monument (15min by Car).

Hallerbos is a magical place, especially in April and May. The hyacinths are all over the forest and color the woods. The afternoons are beautiful with sunset light in between the trees, leaving a special glow of blue velvet. Highly recommended even in winter or summer.

The place is really nice, especially at the flower blossom. It is also very quiet, when there are not too many people. A good place for a family walk.

We had the great chance to witness the blooming wild bluebells in Hallerbos. We were there close to end of April, and the flowers blooms for a week or so. Simply serene, beautiful forests with these bluebells everywhere. Birds chirping so clearly and ringing melody to the ears. This area is not a tourist common attraction, and it makes it... More

If you are going during spring and you re lucky enough to be there while the hyacints are blooming you can consider yourself a lucky one. This is one of the most beautiful walks in the forest sceneries you could experience depicted from a fairytale :) enjoy it!

It is the most beautifull walk you can experience in the forest ! The ground is covered with blooming hyacints. They turn everything blue-purple. You think you walk in a fairy tail and after every tree u expect the discover a house of the dwarfs. With a little imagination you can hear the fairies and elfs singing! It is magic.... More
